I think I saw a bit of this show one night after the footy. I remember being drawn into the story line. I think it was about smuggling gold into India.

It's a very watchable show. Well dramatised too. Shows a lot of the emotion that these mostly young people go through, especially the episode that showed the in-prison real video of what the two British guys did to survive and how they transformed into need-be thugs, just to hang on.
Also a great example of how so many tourists get sucked into taking ridiculous risks for a few bucks. The episode where the guys, including an Aussie, were duped into smuggling gold in Nepal is a terrific warning to any people travelling overseas.

I watched for the first time about 2 weeks ago, they sort of had a marathon on. I am a real fan of the show!
Saw the Venezuela one which was crazy.
I particularly like the show for its name! :D

Greatest documentary show ever. Absolutely love it. Marathon was on a couple of weeks back. Was sick. Best ones are the drug smuggling ones. You really understand how nervous you would be in a foreign ariport with kgs of drugs in your bags. Prisons in Columbia, Venezuela would be tortue...

Awesome show.
The Peru one was scary as shit.
I have had some close scrapes overseas.
Do something as simple as take the wrong street, look at the wrong person, walk into the wrong shop etc... and your life can change forever

im glad we have got some fans... i am an addict, i IQ every episode so ive seen them all..
the episode friday night about the chick who tried to smuggle heroin from bangladesh to switzeland highlighted how unlucky she was to get caught.. she noticed that at her departure gate a lady was doing searches and she actually got passed the search only to be told to come back as she was heading down the stairs..
also, the episode where the bloke was smuggling cocaine from sth america into miami when he fell in love with the chick who set him up.. he only got caught because he was getting shown where his plane was and the security guard put his hand on his back to show/guide him the right way.. was an extremelly unlucky life defining moment and the show describes these well..

Great show, should be compulsory viewing for those in grade 7. Would put anyone off getting sucked in later in life. That and Police Rescue educating about the dangers of drink driving.

Excellent show. Only discovered it recently and am totally hooked.
It just shows how careful you have to be when visiting a foreign country.

I IQ them all, too, so I'm pretty sure I've seen them all now which sucks.
It's such an awesome show, though. I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like in one of those South American prisons..

Going back before I was born, my parents were arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking while holidaying in Malaysia. And the reason - someone at the hotel had noticed, and reported to police, that they were innocently taking public transport rather than the usual tourist transport method of private taxis!
Excellent show. Only discovered it recently and am totally hooked.

Although the show is interesting and the re-enactments are surprisingly effective, this is the problem I have with it. The fact that they always seem to portray these people as totally innocent (not in a legal sense), they are portrayed as victims. As draconian as some of these criminal justice systems are, I really don't buy that these people were totally unaware of the magnitude of what they were doing.
Each episode is really great to watch regardless of deliberate missinfo. Really paints a picture of the various locals who have been pinged trying to smuggle drugs recently. All the friendly free holiday fun times is pretty consistent for the poms and it would be not different for our attempted crews.
Fairly sure I've seen every episode now, been following it for a while on the best chanel on Foxtel, Nat Geo Adventure.
Favourite ep would have to be the young bloke in Kuwait that gets thrown in jail for having/selling hashish. Saddam then invades Kuwait, all hell breaks loose and all the inmates escape the prison.

Think I saw the Peru episode with 2 girls. Gee it makes me worry about travelling overseas incase some crazy situation occurs and I end up on this show lol.

Yeah that was super cool. Talking about how they wrecked themselves trying to kick open the door but there was a dude in another cell who had tree trunks for legs who kicked open his and they unlocked everyone else wasn't it? Was drunk when watched that one. Then running & hitch hiking and coming to the military check point insane stress.

Yep, that one was incredible.
I also really like the one where the Aussie guy got accused of smuggling drugs in Bali and his plan was to break out and dress up like a woman to escape the country. After he had broken out he was on the beach dressed as a woman and he got approached by a guy who then turned out to be one the prison guards from where he broke out of!
Another awesome one was when that guy decided he was going to ride his motor bike through South America and got lost in Colombia and got taken hostage. The shit he went through was so bad, and at the end of it when he was finally released he didn't go straight home, he continued on his journey! crazy.

Wow ! Anybody see tonight's episode?
Text comes on the screen saying something like "In 2004 Scott and Lucy were sentenced to 10 years jail'.
Then there's silence and the camera slowly zooms out revealing that they are still in jail. Amazing television.
It will be replayed twice later tonight.

The episode about the Aussie in Bali is hilarious.
He gets accused of taking drugs and eventually breaks out of prison but gets caught.
Apparently there are a bunch of new episodes out. I had no idea..
Pretty good news!

the first one i ever watched was the two pommy guys, the redhead & guy with glasses... that one's been my favourite for a while...
the iraq one where saddam gets invaded was a cool story...
the one where the girl tricks the guy into falling for her and makes him smuggle the drugs was fukked...where the guy still wonders if she really did set him up.... shit yeah she set him up
the one where the chick picks up that loserish guy to use as a decoy to smuggle drugs and he gets done as well, even though he was innocent...that was messed up... and the fact that he was still stuck in the country awaiting his appeal... just wrong...
the one where the guys dresses up as a woman was also cool...
the ones where there's an innocent person really get me...
awesome series... great reinactments.... raw emotion... you can just put yourself in their shoes

it seems to be on Sun - Thurs now at 10.30 EST
Saw an episode the other day that I hadn't seen, where this girl swallows plastic-wrapped dope and gets busted in Japan.
The already mentioned episode with the Aussie guy in Bali (Chris Parnell) is easily my favourite episode. There were so many times where he could have died and also where he could have escaped. For posters older then me, was this a big story at the time in the media at all ? Say compared to the coverage that Schappelle Corby receives.

I am hooked on this show! Record every ep on my IQ and watch it every dinner, fkn great!
Saw a ripper tonight, some Aussie dude that got slammed up in BALI for life. Turned out he was innocent as well.
The actual film making of the re-enactments are top notch imo.
Great stuff!:thumbsu:
