Hopefully this is more successful than my David Gyngell post, christ knows what happened there, but I can't be bothered posting it again.

Anyway, watched a new HBO series called 'Hung', staring Thomas Jane as a school teacher from Detroit whose life is in the shitter. His one redeeming quality is his large penis and he decides to use it to make some money.

Watched the pilot, found it pretty funny, very deadpan. Add to that it was directed by Alexander Payne (Election, Sideways) who has an interesting visual style.

The pilot was 43 mins, but it will be a 30 minute show. For me it should cover the hole that I felt Weeds fell into.

Definitely worth a look.

Basically took the formula of Breaking Bad and replaced the drug thing with man whore.

It has promise, but I am stumped at where they could take the show story line wise.

What's the bet that the ex-wifes new husband identifies him after seeing his moles then the photo online.

And obviously the person behind the door had to know him.

I can see him becoming quite well off and life looking up only for it to be spoiled again.

Looks interesting.

I think that might be telegraphed in the second ep. Not so much recognise, but I'm getting the feeling he's gonna be sent to service her.

Anyway I think it's pretty solid so far. I've been getting some decent laughs out of it, and the ugly chick is good value - I remember seeing her in a flick she wrote/directed which was pretty good. Can't remember the name though. :o

Anyone still watching?

I don't really like any of the characters which is a bad sign, however I like the concept.

it has started off quite boring...... which is kinda surprising for a show about a manwhore :/

latest couple of episodes (5 and 6) was quite entertaining but that might have been because the client was hawt!!!

Yep, still here.

Quite enjoying it.

Looks like the set up with the wife is coming into play sooner or later.

Alright I am giving up on this show now. Have persevered this far as I like the concept and HBO generally produce some good quality shows but this simply isn't that good. Ray is a pretty boring character and that poet chick just gives me the absolute shits. Don't get me started on the kids either, surely they could have cast some better kids than that. Why are they both goths? Could have cast the girl as a hussy or the boy as a jock or a nerd or something and it would have made the show a bit more interesting. To be honest the only times I have enjoyed this show is when there has been a hot character such as that chick by the road or the fashion lady.

The show is ok, so much potential not really living up to it. Seems to marketed at the 30+ age bracket, the formula set in place would have worked much better with a young demographic in mind.

30+ here, may have to check this out after all... couldn't possibly be worse than Eastbound and Down.

Same here! I can't think of one of the characters that I actually like. I don't know why I watch it every week either.
