Discuss Saturday's World Cup match between Pakistan and India on this thread.
This day game will be played in Centurion, the venue in which Australia humiliated India on February 15th. However, the tables have turned and India seem to be peaking at the right time. Following easy wins over Zimbabwe and Namibia, India led by Sachin Tendulkar blasted England in Durban, followed up by an impressive six wicket haul from Ashish Nehra.
Pakistan have struggled in the World Cup and must be wishing they could turn back the clock with some of their lack luster performances. Perhaps playing against their old foe might bring out their best?
Channel Nine will be broadcasting the game live from 4pm WST.

This must be a record in terms of rate of spelling/punctuation/grammar errors. Good work!

but seriously, what do people have to say about the fact that we will all miss the first two hours of the game? AFAIK start time is 7pm AEST, yet Channel Nine coverage starts at 9pm because of AFL. Fox Sports Two is showing the exciting Kenya v Bangladesh game, so they won't be showing those first two hours.
So we see all of 90 minutes of the first innings.
Channel Nine, the tribe has spoken.
As I have said before, the sooner all sports are removed from free-to-air television, the better.

Ganguly ???? I dont think so. More like Tendulkar and Dravid are the class acts, from what I have seen of India in the last few months.

Couldn't agree more R+B ... and I was looking forward to this match as much as any other in the tournament.
I just hope Pakistan bat first so we're not deprived of seeing Akram, Shoaib v Sachin, Sehwag ....
... Apparently there's also a bit of history between these two nations.

Yes, Ive heard that too. :p
Whats the bet there will be quite a few riots in one of these countries after the match?

Yeah, us Sandgropers get the full game, doo-dah doo-dah
Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat
So far they have gotten off to a 'flyer' with some excellent stroke play and a lot of extra from India. It seems to be a sell-out too with a very loud crowd.
Pakistan 54/0 (10 overs)
Pakistan 3/165 after 35 overs. Should set a challenging total of 280+. Not insurmountable by any means, especially if Tendulkar gets going (but surely he's due for a bad one...)

dont feel too hard done by kenny. us on the eastern seaboard have to watch between 7pm - 3am if we are going to watch the whole thing. you guys get the prime time luxury of 4pm - 12pm

See that ? Nehra just inadvertently Mankaded Latif ... fortunately the Indians didn't see the necessity to appeal.
Pakistan 7/273 after their 50 overs. I don't reckon that'll be enough unless they get Tendulkar out early.
Looks like Sachin is in a hurry, too...

youre not allowed to, apparently with the new rule, you MUST warn the batsman first
India 0/50 after 5

So whats new !!!!:D
Sehwag out for 21. India 1/53 in the 6th.
And Ganguly out for 0 next ball!!! 2/53
Tendulkar 55 off 37.
damn that he is a top player. My cash on Herschelle Gibbs for the top runscorer is looking less and less likely to win.

Meanwhile, Sachin is playing majestically.
No one i'd rather watch bat, ever.

Abdur Razzaq may be looking for a new house at this very moment after dropping Tendulkar not long ago !!!!

Agree except against Australia, would rather see 2 other batsman batting in that side. !!!!. Mind you, the quality of the bowling at the moment is highly questionable. Shoaib Akhtar has just come on, the game will be won and lost in his first 5-6 overs

Sachin Tendulkar is playing the best innings I have seen since...... Jon Davison!
64 off 40 balls currently
India 106-2 after 11.3 overs
Incredible to watch

Tendulkar limping, guess he'll have to go up in 4's

I thought the problem was that he was already in delivery stride.

So should the rest of the side. Pretty sad how the fans are so fanatical up to the point that they hang and burn effigies of players in the street, need armed guards outside their house (as is the case with Ganguly), and a leading political party posts banner in some state saying not to come home if they don't win.
Tendulkar on the other hand with 86 runs from 57 balls will be liking his chances of not having his house damaged, especially if India go on to win as they look like to be doing.

Razzaq now getting a finger on his bowling hand worked on after stopping a ball hit back from Tendulkar in his bowling follow through.
Sachin still batting well, albeit injured.
Indian wicket: Mohammed Kaif edged a ball from Afridi back onto his stumps. Dravid is batting now.

That is until he scores a duck in the Semi Final and India lose, Pakistan and India fans are so fickle they make the British media look like saints !!!!

If the other Indian batsmen ever learn to rotate the strike, Tendulkar's gonna make 300 one day ....
Tendulkar OUT: caught Younis Khan bowled Shoaib Akhtar for 98 (145m 75b 12x4 1x6) SR: 130.67.

Rahul Dravid and Yuvraj Singh have lead the Indians to victory with 6 wickets remaing in the dying overs. Good knocks from both lads.

poetry in motion how else can you describe tendulkar.he makes it look so easy its not funny.
there are 2 players who have the ability to derail our plans of winning the cup.
tendulkar is one of them and mulli the other one.
cheers!
i had a friend from the USA over to watch that india v pakistan last night, it was the first game of cricket he'd ever seen. i switched on around.. i dunno.. 11:30 and tendulkar and sehwag were batting. i advised him that he'd better watch sachin bat. the first 3 balls we see of him were 644 off shoaib. unbelievable. shoiab was taken straight out of the attack.
the game just wasnt the same after he got out. that guy is something else to watch. i reckon its better than watching gilchrist in full flight.
The Pakistani boys are going to get stoned when they get back to Pakistan. They might smoke some marijuana too.

They can still make it if Australia thump England.
I believe that our main threats are from the sub-continent with the batting lineup India posses they can beat anyone and SL who have Vaas, Jayasuira and Murrili.

Tendulkar's innings was very special. Apart from Sehwag he isn't getting a lot of support in the middle order. Has anyone heard anything about his injury? He will be right for the Super Six games I hope!
