Playing two gigs at the Palace.
I'm a big fan - just wondering if there were any others here. Don't mind Big Yellow Taxi, but I think including Vanessa Carlton is a bit sellout-ish and unecessary. I read somewhere that it was her "second hit single"...
Her single? What about the blokes actually making the music? Any slapper can prance around in the background going "Ooooh, bop bop bop"!

I've only ever heard 2 of their songs. Big Yellow taxi is overrated, not the best version of the song.

As I said to my mate (who is going): "they should just play Mr. Jones twenty-two times."
The Hitman
The Counting Crows album "August and Everything After" is IMO one of the best albums of the 90's. Not one filler on the entire album. Very very good album!

Just like anyone can take music written by someone else and turn it into a hit (second time around) 20 odd years later.
Poor Joni

Poor Joni
My biggest gripe is all these technoed versions of 20 year old songs. Boys of Summer, Rhinestone Cowboy, I Just Died in Your Arms etc etc. Today I heard Mandy, the old Barry Manilow number! AAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!!!

The Crows have some very good songs, but not enough. In no particular order,
Colorblind
Mr Jones
Perfect Blue Buildings (always reminds me of Sept. 11)
'Round here (absolutely amazing live)
are all good.
I wish they'd do Mr Jones on Rove.
I love the Counting Crows, particularly August and Everything After, sort of a soundtrack to part of my life, but their latest album, Hard Candy is quite good also. I'm going to tomorrow night's show, but had a hell of a time getting tickets - 9 minutes after tickets went on sale, I couldn't get 2 together, but it's all good.
Still prefer Joni Mitchell's Big Yellow Taxi though, if only because it had more relevence.

I love the Counting Crows. Like all the songs listed here and also one of my favourites is Mrs Potters Lullaby.
