The pioneers rooms burnt down yesterday afternoon and as a result they and the Golden Square junior football club have lost a lot of their equipment. The Pioneers only saved the new gear for this season from the fire.
Bit of bad luck I must say, especially so close to the start of the TAC cup.

Real shame that - really hope the kids can get something up and running soon.

Essnedon today raffled a jumper signed by Sheeds and Lloyd to help out with the burnt out rooms.

damn. Noticed the other day they are playing all home games there. Will they move to windy hill for home games now ?

You're confusing the Bendigo Pioneers (under 18s) with the Bendigo Bombers. The fire was at Golden Square, not at QEO - QEO is where the Bombers are playing home games.

Does this affect Golden Square (senior) FC?

Tried to find out more info on their site, but of course it is an AFL template site so the news hasn't been updated since 28th Feb.

I was going to put a note about it in the weekly e-mail but of course as it is an AFL template site there are no contact details for the club.

A proposal: If any club is dissatisfied with their AFL-bestowed web site I'd be more than happy to help them find a new, inexpensive solution.

Nup, the Pioneers used the old chenrooms which happened to be the visitors rooms for teams that play Golden Square. The Sqaure seniors still have their rooms as they aren't connected.

Ahh fair enough thanks Lethal.

Can't they use those for now?

Yeah, I think Golden Square has offered but I heard that the Pioneers wanted to be independant and were thinking about maybe using the swimming pool change rooms next door to the ground.

Oh ok, fair enough!
