Today's win underlines the progress we have made as a team and a club so far in 2009.

Sydney may just miss out on the finals, but make no mistake - they are a force at the SCG (have won 8 of their last 9 there) and to beat them at their own game, on their own dunghill speaks volumes of the character that this side is developing after a minor setback last week. We lost this corresponding game by 91 points last season and to win comfortably today on the road signals very promising times ahead for the Dons.

People will point to Lloyd & Lucas and their contributions today, but make no mistake - it was the likes of Pears, Winderlich, Lovett & Welsh that helped us win this game. They were very good at a tough venue.

We have two very winnable games left on the road this year, both to Subiaco where we won last year. If we can take our Melbourne form on the road again, I've got little doubt it will go a long way to us being a top 8 team in 2009. :)

Yeah it was a very good win. Without playing our best, we never really looked like losing control of the game apart from a couple of passages when the Swans got ontop but couldn't convert.

Another great start today that was marred by missed chances much like last week. It's frustrating but it's good to see we've improved our first quarters drastically this year.

Prefer to take things a week at a time so I'm not worrying about our other 2 road trips yet. We MUST capitalise on our chances against the dogs this week otherwise we'll make things extremely hard for ourselfs. Hopefully they're not too pumped up after their loss to the pies.

What i loved most about this game, we out tackled Sydney. Big positive imo, the pressure we put on them was superb for the most part of the game.

Our best win of the year - I still maintain.

Travelling, difficult ground, difficult team and still winning easily.

Will do our boys wonders, confidence wise.

It was a good win. One that I expected if we are to play finals.

I was a little frustrated in the 1st half with the missed chances knowing that a quick surge by the swans could turn the game, but thankfully they missed their key opportunities!

We played well without being great. Its really important to win on the road especially with the 2 games in perth on the horizon.

All in all it was a good day at the office.

Every win on the road is important. We have been an ordinary travelling team. This is another positive sign and shows we are capable of playing well on the road - so no excuses from now on.

The rollercoaster continues and I am enjoying it.

I am very confident the win against the Swans will hold in good stead in the future.

Shitney's (oops!) average age is about 44 but youth overcame experience in a massive way today. We will now have total confidence in our future road trips after overcoming one of the biggest challenges in football - winning at the SCG.

I am very optimistic that the EFC has a very golden future ahead - not in 2009, no, there are better teams out there - but they won't last forever. Heads up Dons fans, we are on a very exciting ride with a fantastic young list.

Our best win of the year

I find it very hard to disagree with that. :thumbsu:

Bulldogs will be mighty tough to beat next week. Got an extra days break and after a loss, would want to bounce-back with a comfortable victory. Should suit our gamestyle though against them, it's not like they'll try and stop our running game. Will be a shoot-out; promises to be a cracker!

Yeah, Bulldogs are a huge game from us, the biggest one since Collingwood two weekends ago (which didn't go so well unfortunately). It will likely be a sellout given the way we've been rocking up to games (and no doubt Doggies fans will be enthusiastic about this one too).

Now that we're at the business end of the season, these are the kinds of games we need to sometimes win if we're to have a shot at getting anything more than experience out of September.
