View Full Version : WAFL Clubs
I'm interested to know what WAFL clubs other Eagle's supporters follow.
For me it's always been Claremont. I've followed them basically from the day I was born - Dad followed them & at an early age I had no choice! Like I have with the Eagles, I've stuck by the Tigers through the really good and the not so good years!
C'mon Claremont!

For me, I follow Subi. They have been the team I have always, and will always follow in the WAFL. I also Like Claremont as my Dad worked in Claremont and I now live in the Claremont Region of Albany, where they are playing this weekend, and that i could have been in the curtain raiser for, but I am going to the derby!

South Fremantle. Always have. Now have a soft spot for East Perth because I know most of the players.
I was sooo annoyed when I saw the fixtures last week & saw Claremont were playing in Albany this week! http://www.bigfooty.com/ubb/frown.gif
I don't get to as many WAFL games as I'd like to and this is one week I could have gone to a WAFL game 'cause I'm not working! As much as I think it's great to play in country areas, why this week.....? Selfish of me I know!
Have a good trip to Perth eagleskickass, hope we can get another win on the board to make your trip worthwhile!
I know Im not an Eagles supporter but I dont get to talk WAFL with people very much so Im going to sneak onto your board and tell ya why I barrack for the Mighty Fighting Swan Districts. Having lived in Narembeen when I was little which is Billy Walker country (And no Im not that old) everyone up there barracked for them and it kind of rubs off. My mum also barracks for them which helped. Dad barracks for Claremont so I would say that they are probably my second team.

As a kid I've grown up supporting Claremont since many of my idols played for them, plus I'm in their local area. However my heart says West Perth since my grandfather was president there and shared so many memories of the club. Anyone remember West Perths last official home game at Leederville Oval? One of the best games and days of football I've ever been to.

My Dad coached Bill Walker when he was coaching in Bruce Rock and told him he had what it took to make it in the WAFL....as they say the rest is history. Dad went down on the train to Perth with Bill on Friday nights & played a few games in the Reserves then would come back Sat, to play in the team he coached in Bruce Rock on the Sunday. I thought I was pretty lucky when Bill used to come down to Bunbury for Legacy matches and he'd spend time talking to my Dad. He was one of my heroes when I was a kid http://www.bigfooty.com/ubb/smile.gif

Another Swannies supporter here. http://www.bigfooty.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
I'll admit to it, I don't follow a WAFL team but I do have my reasons http://www.bigfooty.com/ubb/biggrin.gif. When I came back from Guam at the end of 1991, aged 7, I discovered football and because the eagles were the local team started to barrack for them. I had a brief look at the WAFL but the skill were a lot less and it wasn't very interesting and thats gradually continued. If I do have a soft spot it would be for South Fremantly cause some of my ancestors played for it back when the club started.

Subi, but of course I have a look at East Perth now too.

South Fremantle, and we kicked your butts last weekend east freo. Bulldogs will win the premiership this year no doubt. Also have a soft spot for Peel as I live in Mandurah.

i_luv_westcoast - I really hope Peel delivers the goods this year and makes the Finals. Their coach, Shane Cable has done wonders for the boys down there and so far they are doing well. Peel is a boom region in WA footy and although the other 8 clubs are voting to 'save their own skins' they are neglecting the future and development of WA football.

Couldn't agree more GoEagles. Getting rid of Peel would be a backward and detramentel step for the WAFL.
