Does anyone know the current status of his inclination to play footy for the Lions?
The Lions propaganda tells us he WAS homesick but is now a happy little chappy - but I have my doubts...
I think he will be a great player, but I worry about his maturity as evidenced by the "Draft" on the ABC.

I think he still wants to go back to perth, but Lethal has made it clear that he is still a valuable part of the team and will not be released from his contract early.

Des seemed over anxious and over aroused when he plays. I guess he's used to dominating and maybe finds the team roles frustrating. I'm waiting to see something either solid ( a la Chris Scott ) or something special ( like DJ or Luke Power ) but, as yet I've seen a guy trying to kick the bladder out of the ball, or run that extra metre or try that 2nd option that no one else anticipated. He's probably hard to coach.
I think he needs to be given a role where he can get in the play and develop a style that both satisfies him AND contributes to the team - maybe off the backline. Look at Chris Johnson's last season - a similar scenario. Now he's solid, he can really show his class ( and there's still time for Mark of the Century ! ) As has been said about Des, time to put away the child and find the man.

This is the year for Des - if he's still homesick by the end i don't see the need to keep him.
I think Des is due to become a dad around New Years Eve????
If that is the case - maybe fatherhood will help him be more settled.
Speaking of which, how many lions babies were born this year?

Too many; especially around finals time.
More bromide is needed in the players' diets and cold showers only in the changerooms!
