Just had to mention this ...

The kids woke me up last weekend to say there was a Lions game on the TV. It was AFL Blockbusters featuring the 1986 Elimination Final !!! With the young John Blakey .. hasn't he been great.

I marvelled at the deeds of Gary Keane, Dean Turner, Scott McIvor and the Harris brothers , as well as the Roos / Pert show. The comments were being delivered by one B. Quinlan ... and it has to be said R. Merritt was a headhunter.

Got me thru' this week .. what heroes !

Other teams constantly seem to be celebrating narrow, heart-wrenching "less-than-a-goal" finals victories over Essendon.

That loss was hard to take. We led just about all day too.
