Going to see it tomorrow in the City, I can't believe it is only being screened at 4 or 5 cinemas, it's a Coen Brothers movie FFS, it should be screening at all cinemas.

It's an interesting one isn't it. I look forward to seeing this when I can, I much prefer the Coen brothers comedy to their serious stuff (No Country was way over my simple head).

No Country For Old Men was a fantastic movie.

Not really debating that, I just didn't like it as much as everyone else did.

Fair enough, I suggest you don't go & see "A Serious Man" then.

Really? From what I've seen it's a comedy slash drama in the mould of Fargo which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Tell us what you think of it when you see it today/tomorrow.

After seeing it, it's more a black comedy. A fantastic movie, acting was great, the end was weird, my son & I both looked at each other with a WTF look.:D

It won't be everyone's cup of tea because of the storyline, but Coen nuts will love it.

what a fantastic movie this is

however, its an uncomfortable movie to sit through, the characters talk all funny like they do on fargo

those who watch it will question: why did they have a long intro sequence with fyvush finkel in it

and the ending if you really call that an ending? will do a few people's heads in as well

Way over your head?

Here's a rundown. Cowboy played by Josh Brolin finds a bag full of drug money. Contract killer sent by Javier Bardem is sent to recover the money. A bunch of people, including Brolin, die. Tommy Lee Jones never catches up. The end.

It was awesome.

i think people were left with a bad taste in their mouth for no country for old men seeing javier "i kill everyone" bardem get away

however the point of coen brothers movies is not about giving you the ending you want, alot of them is up to the point of view of the viewer to finish this movie for themselves

the following movie is no exception

I actually reckon it was the complete opposite; people enjoyed the ending because for one of the few times in cinematic history, the good guy didn't win and the bad guy got away.
For me the most interesting part of the ending was whether or not Anton killed Llewelyn's wife. If he was true to the morals of his character they you'd think he did, but it's not 100% apparent.

But I digress. Haven't seen this latest Cohen flick yet but it's on my list.

I often find Coen films are very hit and miss for me. Some of them are my favourite films of all time. Some I find excrutiatingly bad. I'll say no more as I don't want to get mantis started again.

This one looks interesting. Will have to check it out.

Saw it tonight, and it is yet another excellent film to add to the Coens' catalogue. Especially pleasing given how disappointing Burn After Reading was (by their standards at least).

Watched this last night. Didnt like it at all. Thought it tried too hard to be dry and dark but just ended up being a pile of pretentous wank. I usually like comedies like this and also enjoy the Coens films, but this missed the mark with me.

Larry Gopnik:
The Uncertainty Principle. It proves we can't ever really know... what's going on! So it shouldn't bother you. Not being able to figure anything out!
Although you will be responsible for this on the mid-term.
