Discuss the final Super Six match between Australia and Kenya on this thread.

This day/night match will be played in Durban on Saturday evening.

Not much to discuss really except by how much we flog them by. If we bat first I reckon 150 runs. Bat 2nd 8 wickets.

That's a big tough on the Kenyans, afterall they have been playing well throughout the tournament (no doubt being helped by the 4 points they recieved by the boycott from New Zealand).

Whatever happens here will depend on the toss, if Kenya win it, and elect to bat, the result should be a lot closer than you think, but if they don't, fugetabauit!, Australia by 10 wickets.

Australia should win this game comfortably, the only real doubt here is whether Andrew Symonds is fit enough to come back into the side or whether we stick with Ian Harvey.

This will be the perfect hit-out for Kenya, a match (probable flogging) against Australia with nothing hinging on it, no pressure and they will be in a position after this game to evaluate how much they have improved. Havent heard any team selection news but I would like to see Gilly and either Bichel or McGrath rested up for the S/F (depending on Symonds fitness) And to all the Kenya knockers, think about this. They won (without the forfeit) the same number of games as SAF, WI, Eng, Zim and 1 more game than Pakistan. As well as beating the No1 ranked nation in Group B and belting another test nation the other night with 25 overs to spare, their 2 performances so far in the Super6 have been anything but embarrasing BUT I fear the bubble may burst their next (final) 2 games. I hope not though, I want to see that dance one more time :D

Im not to worried about the result of this match (Because Australia should win this match quite easily), I just want to see our batters get a decent hitout especially Matthew Hayden who hasnt really fired yet in this world cup.

Agree with the sentiment, but if Australia bat first they can't win by any number of wickets - only runs.

Hope it is a contest, but Australia should be too strong.

D'oh, screwed up there, but come to think about it, I hope that Kenya does well (and if they do the impossible and win, that would give this tournament a shot in the arm, because it's looking like Australia vs India all the way), because I like their approach to the game, thier positive attitudes (Especially wicket-keeper, Kennedy Obuya Otieno, and gun leg spinner, Collins Obuya) and the fact that they've really improved since the last World Cup.

Looks like there is a bit of an injury cloud over Bevan which may open the door for Harvey and Symonds to go head-to-head for the all-rounders position. Or alternatively Jimmy Maher could have a hit if Bevan doesn't come up.

If true, play Jimmy Maher.

Aust won the toss, but BaggyGreen doesn't say what they'll do.

I'd suspect they'd bat to avoid batting last in a D/N and plus just to get a few of the batters a bit of a hit after the last match.

Geez...Poor K.Obuya. He's dismissed after being hit on the elbow and the ball deflecting on to the stumps and he's injuried from it!

I'm a Lee critic, but that was a tremendous piece of pace bowling. Top work indeed.

Sham about the Kenyan opener - hope he pulls up ok.

I knew Binga would get that hat-trick.

Ditto.

It's a pity Lee can't produce that kind of bowling against the better sides more often.

He demolished SL and bowled very well against India. Took 5 wickets against Kiwis the other day. He wasn't too bad against Pakistan but struggled against England.

He has been very impressive if you ask me.

Kenya finished on 8-174, very impressive performance by them.
They were carried by 3 good inning and 1 cameo at the end
Shah 46
Tikolo 51
Modi 38 not out
Suji 14 not out

Lee had 1 good over ended up with 3/14 off 8
Bichel and Lehmann both provided some decent back-up, also thought Hogg bowled fairly well.

Has anyone heard any news on Otieno's injury?

Gilly hit some HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE sixes. Damn that was entertaining. Got out in the end with 67 off 43 balls after a slowish start.

Hey, 90% of this board over this summer have been screaming for his head because he couldn't get even the tailenders out, now when he does he still gets criticised. Fickle.

Yeah exactly. And NZ bat all the way down to number 10. It's not like they were hacks.

A good effort by Kenya. I missed their innings, but it would appear they made a good comeback. Well done to 'em!

Aussies were inconsistent in their chase. Some good hits from Haydos but he still looks a bit off the boil. Gilly was Gilly. Ponting is STILL dodgy against spin.

Karim bowled extremely well, a deserved MOM.
