Yes it does indeed :(
But even with a fringe team, we're still very tough team to beat up at the gabba.

You guys are just lucky that our bowlers are away on World Cup duties!
Imagine Lee, McGrath and Bracken added to the attack :D

One noteable exception there. Was it deliberate? ;)
I don't really care who wins but Go Queensland :D

Hmmm...are you talking about a former Captain? If so, it really was deliberate after his season this year. ;)

"Only two sides have ever won a Shield away from home. NSW won the first final at the WACA in 1982/83 and Queensland also won at the WACA in 1996/97. Which statistic will give - that NSW has never lost a final to Queensland or that Queensland has never lost a final at home? "
I guess he missed the final in 98/99.

Go Slats, with Langers Hiccups the 2nd opener spot has to be up for grabs, or am i just being naive thinking that good form can actually get you back in the test side?

Well Slater is from NSW so he has a head start in selection.
However being an immature **** probably counts against him!

good news for NSW

after losing 4/2 (aussie way round), a lovely partnership of 8 runs is giving the welshmen some hope.

14 Mar 2003, 17:32
That's a relief. I went there today at 1/130, saw 2 overs before the rain came and then went home :) Good thing i didn't have to pay for the ticket though!
Go the BULLS!!!!
Selection has really hurt us. More so than the blues, because they are always without their big names and thus build a 'team' without them. Most of our guys are newly selected (and in many cases aren't even playing over in SA). But it should be a good game!

Queensland are in alot of Trouble...
NSW were dismissed today for 282 after a mini collapse.
But QLD has decided to better that by currently being 4/45

Also, that Payne dismisal sounded a bit dodgey...
Payne hit a ball straight back to Bollinger who was bowling and the umpire ruled it not out thinking it was a bump ball. But after the umpire at square leg had a conference with the other umpire, it was given out.

Make a century Junior!

Yeah why not.
The game is over anyway.
Go Junior!
Looks like all the talk about Queensland having a weak batting line up was correct. Pity about Noffke though.

Poor Noffke. I had the exact same thing 1 days ago, it wasnt pretty. :(
Also, a question about Micheal Clarke..
It sounds like he definetly has all the talent in the world to make the test team, but I keep hearing that he keeps getting out making extremely rash shots. Something he has to work on?

sounds a bit like michael clarke is suffering the same sort of thing slats once used to. when he's on fire he's really on fire, but when he gets out, coz he's such a dasher, he looks like he's thrown his wicket away.
if i was him i wouldnt change my style. he's made it this far and he's barely out of PG's.
BTW.... really nice touch to see the queenslanders rooting for junior. onya guys
New South Wales all out in their second innings for 263. Queensland chasing 462 for victory with the best part of three days to go. Might need another Martin Love double century...

Queensland 5/150 at tea day three, chasing 462. Carseldine 49*, Seccombe 5*.
Looks like another title for New South Wales. :(

These two must be there at stumps. Praying for rain might help!
Seccombe out. Queensland need a cyclone to hit & soon.
Last hope for Queensland is gone. Carseldine out LBW to Katich (not offering a shot) for 65 - and apparently showed some dissent upon his dismissal.
The tail's been good for Queensland this year, but seven down I don't think they can make the 250-odd required to win.

And according to Grandstand, he had reason to be upset. Shame because it was a gutsy effort from him.
Dale & Kasprowicz going the slog now.
7-209
All over. Congratulations NSW, worthy winners.
Qld 9-215. Noffke was too ill to bat.
NSW comfortably.
All over, red rover.
Kasprowicz and Dale out, Noffke won't bat - Queensland all out for 215.

The batting depth was tested to the limit when all-rounder Hopes withdrew, and Law and Cassell were both unavailable and of course Noffke is also known for his batting exploits lower in the order, and of course he wasn't 100% at all throughout the match. I guess you could also say that even the bowling line-up was tested for depth also, given that Brant didn't play, and IMO is a quality bowler. This is notwithstanding the five internationals, and NSW was basically full strength minus McGrath and Lee on ODI duties (I won't mention Bevan and Bracken who would not have added anything to this strong side).
As much as I hate to admit it, NSW deserved to win the game (although no the season as it had an inferior record to Qld).
However... I will just add poignantly that five SS/Pura finals in succession is a damn sight better than what NSW have achieved in recent times, and Qld deserved a better run with injuries over the last two seasons contary to what has been quoted on here and in the media. BTW, this is not sour grapes, this is just plain fact.

That was the biggest anti climax ever !
Billed all week and then over on day 3 ! QLD werent worthy finalists on that weak effort. Was hoping they would win.

If the final was worth 6 points, both teams would have finished with 42 points. On outright wins, NSW had 7 to Qld's 6.
