What is with this New Zealand game? Surely that's got to be just as bad as playing up in the tropics. Why is it that Brisbane are the ones that draw these kinds of games?

I mean really New Zealand....there will be all of 1 person and 5000 sheep in the stadium!

Joshy Boy, how are ya?
I'm glad they changed the game to somewhere else for the players sake more than anything.
It would've been too bloody hot for the boys, especially for the Crows players.
I mean our guys would be use to the hot, humid conditions, but it would be a bit much for the boys from S.A.
Course I want the Lions to win, but when it comes down to people risking their lives playing a game of footy in the extreme heat, surely you'd have to feel for the guys no matter which team they played for.
But, I agree with you they didn't have to move the game to N.Z., why not just play it at Footy Park in Adelaide.
Cheers...

Last Ansett cup Hawthorn played Western Bulldogs in Wellington at the newly-completed Westpac Trust Stadium.

25,000 people showed up to watch two teams that don't have a big following in NZ in freezing cold and pouring rain as well.

In 1998 Sydney played Melbourne in Wellington and 12,500 showed up to a game that had nil publicity and was played at the Basin Reserve - a very small cricket ground that has a capacity of around 15,000

Interest (curiosity ?) in Australian Football is big in New Zealand and is getting bigger all the time. Brisbane has dome well to get this game transferred to NZ, the weather will be kind and the crowd will be big and enthusiastic.

And the Stadium is a ripper too !
