No subtley whatsoever either. Lets look
3 guys from same family with the only female influence coming from maid/house keeper
2 brothers, one successful and the other jealous of there success
Niles/Daphne and Rose/Charlie. The pining style of relationship.
Successful upper class types.
I could go on but the point is ever since I noticed the similarities between the two shows I can no longer watch Two and a Half men without thinking of how big of a rip off it really is

I suppose they are very much alike, if you're mentally deficient

Same sort of humor too except Two and a Half Men just added a slab of sex to it.

You are forgetting one very important difference.
Frasier was funny.

Frasier = G.A.Y
Never found anything on the show even slightly humerous...
The Frasier / Niles dynamic is better mirrored by Leonard / Sheldon in Big Bang Theory.
High five for Chuck Lorre regardless whether he ripped sitcom templates or not. Sitcoms are struggling but he is still pulling the goods.

kind of agree... although there was one episode where frasier is about to get it on with some girl, so they are about to get ready and leave the living room... frasier thinks she's ready and comes back into the living room with a big whipped cream arrow pointing at his crotch, only to find the other main characters have enterd the apartment looking at him
i had a chuckle

I always saw Frasier as more witty than laugh out loud funny, still had it's moments though, like Frasier and Niles in the gay bar..
Frasier was a really good show IMO, can't stand Two and a Half Men.
It's all academic anyway, if you want comedy you need not go any further than Arrested Development, loved since it's first airing in Australia, can't wait for the movie...

You can find similarities with lots of shows.Let's try Seinfeld and Friends
* both revolved a lot around a coffee shop
* characters lived across from each other
* a lot of relationships never lasted more than one episode ;)
* Kramer was a doofus,Joey was a doofus
* Kramer rarely worked,Joey rarely worked
Try it with two other shows
noooooooo say it isn't so? You mean they just repeat the same junk over and over but with different actors and slightly different twists to it? I have lost all faith in sitcom entertainment from this point on!
sorry for the sarcasm, but this is not a new phenomenon on TV or Movies
Nasty divorces
Unwanted house guests
One has a real job the other a novelty one.

There is one key difference; Friends is shit and Seinfeld is one of the best shows ever and is easily the best sitcom of all time. :D
Wait, let me get this straight. Are you saying television executives are rehashing old successful ideas, turning them into formulas and then re-releasing them as different shows??  .

True :D
If you think Two and a Half Men is as good as Frasier then you're deluded.
2 brothers, one successful and the other jealous of there success
Niles was very successful.
Overall by the end of the series Niles was actually far more successful in life than Frasier.
must have been a boring day to notice this
kind of like how law and order SVu takes of Law and Order lol
Frasier was quite a formulaic show itself. Sure it was more intelligent and witty than your average sitcom in terms of dialogue and settings but it still was formulaic.
FWIW I hate Two and a Half Men and don't mind Frasier, but it was never a show I'd go out of my way to watch or buy dvds of.

I like when people say Frasier wasn't funny. It's a sure sign that they're extremely unintelligent.

can i play?
both are set on the west coast
both have a set of brothers, live together
brothers always seem to finish or complete each others jokes.
cast of both shows never have their back to the camera when they're talking

What an unintelligent thing to say.
The snobbery that goes on with sitcoms is hilarious. God forbid people find Two and a Half Men, Friends or Everybody Loves Raymond funny. Surely three of the most unfairly maligned shows going around.
both have a set of brothers, live together
Niles and Frasier didn't live together.
As for Frasier it's possibly the best written sitcom ever and the only one I rate on the same level as Seinfeld. In fact at it's best I'd probably rate Frasier a smidge higher.
The show he came from also rates up with those two.

And like Frasier is to Two and a half men, Seinfeld is funny, friends is shit, just like Two and a half men is awful

They can fight out for second place.
The best written sitcom will always be arrested development by quite some margin as well
You had Frasier, Niles and their dad, who was disabled and old and therefore half a man = Two and a Half Men.
You guys wait here while I get the writs drawn up.
