I face a dilema. As a Bomber i have hate for Carlton bred into me, adding to this, my housemate is a port fan and i have been generally going for them with him. On Saturday i told him that if the bombers win, then we are still a chance of finals and i would barrack against port, but if we lose, i would concede that finals are out of the question and i would go for port rather than have Hawthorn make the finals. The draw made it a bit difficult.

Any chance both teams can lose and not get any points for it?

Yeah, I'll be going for them as well.

... now I feel compelled to go for Essendon this weekend

Haven't done that since the last Saturday in September 1990

This situation is to much... I can't simply turn off my deep hatred, mistrust and disgust for the Blues for one game. This is terrible.... I am not sure I can handle it
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

ok - now I hope that the Power lose by a point...

I feel soooooooooo cheap now

This.

There is no need to go for Carlton, I simply think they will win because their rabble are slightly better and more organised then Ports rabble.

I think Port will win, but certainly want Carlton to get up.

That's not what I recall from 1999.

What an irony: You guys are barracking for the Blues and I for Essendon.
It would be great to see you there for the finals.
Certainly more interesting, than having the Power in there

Either of Hawthorn or Essendon would be more interesting than Jekyll and Port.

No matter who they played, Port would be bundled out in embarrassing fashion.

harks, there is a very good chance that you have missed the point here.

No, I don't miss too many points.
You guys would love the opporunity to smash us for a third time this year and rightly so.

I would just love to be at the ground where a sub final would feel as important as a Grand Final.
Port would not give me that opportunity, yet Essendon would.

That is the chance I, along with the AFL and all football loving public would love

The original posting was referring to Prelim day in `90 not `99. Yodell was taking the urine out of the bloke who clearly missed that g.f day was in October not September.

Unfortunately it is utterly impossible for me to support Carlton in any way, shape or form.
