Seriously what is it with this garbage? All it consists of is thinly veiled entertainment journalism and inane vapid drivel between co-hosts.
ABC2 is a much better option if you want to see the news in the morning.

There's much more to both shows than that. There's network cross-promotion (sadly the ABC is not immune from this either) and advertorials (and there are times when, totally against their charter, the ABC end up doing this).

Mostly, I'm a student, and have all my lectures in the afternoon, so I stay up until about 2am and get up when Sunrise and Today are all over. Only time I do get up early is when I am doing morning shift for work.

The Morning Show is worse than these 2 combined. The ****ing shit they talk about. Celebrity this, What Britney Spears had for breakfast, how many pubes on Miley Cyrus beaver etc. They may aswell call themselves Womans Day and be done with it

I have never been a fan of Today. I used to be a fan of Sunrise in its formative years, but they have become full of themselves since they "put Rudd into power".
Channel 7 as a whole is annoying the shit out of me.
- With their constant cross-promotions, always plugging their shows...
honestly you can't watch a single show without it plugging some other show.
- Also has anyone else noticed how their shows constantly run over time??? News might run to 6:35pm so you miss the start of other shows on other channels at 6:30pm. Then Today Tonight will run to almost 7:10pm... H&A until 7:40pm and so on. (Wife watches these shows and it shits me when I want to start watching anything else).
"Breakfast" on ABC2 is my choice. So much more informative and covers 4X as much news and events. Watching 15 mins of Breakfast is = 60 mins of Sunrise.

Also also... can't recall her name but when Virginia Trioli was on holidays/sick the female replacement they had was SMOKIN. :)

I hate these fake morning shows where everyone is all fake nice. Is there anyone more fake on tv then Mel? I watch ch10 which runs the local radio station 90.9seafm. Kind of stupid to watch the people doing radio but it sure beats the crap on 7 and 9.

Don't complain about either of these shows until you've seen the show after sunrise, The Morning Show. Ranks up there with current shitest TV shows.... actually that's given me an idea.
I will admit that I watch Sunrise as it is the better of two evils. I get up at 5.30a.m. so need something to keep me away getting ready til I toddle out the door to get the ferry to Town to work..the one few downsides of living on a tropical island i guess.
If someone shot that Mel I wouldn't shed a tear tho. Oi!! what a Fake Princess.

Out of curiosity has she ever been awarded anything for on-camera work? While she might be a credible journalist she is an utterly shocking on-air personality trying to turn every interview into some adversarial slanging match which at the best of times is a pain and at the worst makes her seem WAY out of her depth.

I was channel surfing this morning and came across a sunday edition of Today [as if 5 days of it isn't bad enough].Now usually these morning shows have Hollywood "entertainment" [i.e latest Paris Hilton shag update/latest Jacko update....he's still dead] reporters who are more camp than a row of tents,but this show had some female Southern yokel.Her voice was soooooo irritating.

Breakfast media is a ****ing wasteland in Australia, it really needs to be revamped big time. Im thankful I can actually sleep through it most days with work and uni being in the afternoon most of the time.
The US ones are good though.
NBC Today (which Sunrise blatantly copies) is the best of the bunch.

Natalie Barr seems like the biggest uptight bitch on television. Every time I see Sunrise she always has a look of utter contempt on her face when Kochie and Mel are spouting on about something or other.
Either way, both morning shows are horrible. The Morning Show is by far the worst, though.
