History takes the shine off these moments. We all remember Hird was good, but you really do forget just how good he was. And how happy Fletcher was having hard nuts like Wellman and Wallis beside him!

Geez Long had an absolute shocker that day.
Could have easily smashed them by 20 goals if it wasn't for that really blustery wind.

I dont know, but it was a hell of a lot. There was a whole heap of fines for the melee afterwards though.
