Now some of you may be rolling your eyes already, but the fact is that this event breaks new ground. For the first time, we have two female fighters headlining a major MMA event and they will be fighting five five-minute rounds. I'm hoping that Gina doesn't get crushed, but I'm fearful that Cyborg will have far too much power for her and will win in the 2nd.

I think Carano is about to drop a few points in the beauty scale TBH. There be dudes fighting at feather at WEC who would think twice about a match with Cyborg. My tip is a massacre.

EDIT: It's not a bad card as far as the non big boy orgs go. Originally there was a championship fight on the bloody undercard.

Carano may just die, no joke.

Babalu/Mousasi is the big one here. Mousasi's on a great run and should handle Sobral, but Babalu's always tough. Melendez and Taylor in the other two fights. Any coverage of this?

I feel that good will triumph over evil, it just has to.

But I'm scared for Gina :(

I'd be scared for most guys facing Cyborg.

Man, you guys are all really underestimating Gina. Cyborg's been beating up on girls who usually fight in the weight class below her and she's still taking at least two rounds to put them away. Gina isn't giving up any size here and she's also technically the better striker. I'm not going to guarantee that Gina's going to win or anything but she'll hold her own at the very least.

Really looking forward to the Babalu vs Mousasi fight though. The odds are interesting as Babalu is around $2.85 on Sportsbet. Mousasi's never fought at LHW before and his only wins of note at MW came against Jacare and Kang. I'm thinking Babalu may take the upset by submission here.

Melendez vs Ishida should be a solid high-paced fight but it's pretty safe to predict it's also going the full 25 minutes. Going with Melendez to avenge his loss to Ishida in 2007.

Leaning towards the tard strength of Taylor to win out in the fight against Hieron while in the only notable prelim Werdum will hopefully sub Mike Kyle early.

^ I think it's on Spike TV. People with Foxel might be able to get it free.

Ross we think alike :)

I have a gut feeling that Babalu can pull the 'upset' here. He just looks very confident and although Mousasi is a great fighter, dipping his toes into LHW with probably a top 10 LHW fighter (I think) in Babalu, its a tough ask. Babalu will be bigger and stronger and is most likely better on the ground.

If Gergard wins, I'll be extremely impressed. Personally I think Babalu might take this via sub or decision.

Carano will do well, but Santos is probably a more well rounded fighter and has more power.

It will be closer than a complete domination, but I doubt we'll see a decision, I think Carano will get her first defeat.

I'm tipping Ishida by decision, purely on wrestling and top control.

Werdum should run through Kyle, but stranger things have happened (JDS!), if Kyle wins, there is one less 'legit' opponent for Fedor :(

drew_j its definately not on Spike! UFC would crack the shits hard! It will be on Showtime but there will be streams as per...

Diaz didnt show up to 2 drug tests for a title fight - what a wanker

Mousasi has subbed Mark Hunt so the size difference will not matter and he will KO Babalu.

Gina will have to take some hard shots win or lose, I can see her getting the sub!

MOUSASI WAR WAGON!

Get on people, this guy is the real deal.

Wow is the word I used. He was amazing, I am well and truly on the Mousasi band wagon.

Yeah I've been on the Mousasi wagon since seeing him defeat Kang and Dream 2.

Seriously, SERIOUSLY talented. Almost seems like the 2nd coming of Fedor. So calm, but capable of such brutality. Considering he trains with Fedor, it's understandable...

He'd be top 5 in the UFC LHW IMO, only Rampage, Shogun, Anderson and Machida and possibly Rashad being capable of taking him out.

At Middleweight, he'd be even harder to beat. Hendo, Marquart and Anderson are the only ones that come to mind.

At 26-2 with that break out performance against Babalu - the guy is LEGIT. And he's only 24!!!

Cyborg smashed Carano, just too big and strong. I think she is unbeatable.

Mousasi has the game to beat Silva. Very good striking and judo so he can get the top position. Im a big fan of both but Id love to see that fight.

Three really dominant performances on the main card, with Mousasi being the most impressive IMO. Babalu's no joke and he was just destroyed. Mousasi has it all; skills, mindset, killer instinct, athleticism, youth and experience. Scary to think how good he could be in 5 years time.

Ye no doubt mousasi's the real deal, strikeforce is a good little organization at the moment.
