The one about the guy who was locked in the cupboard as a child by his prostitute junkie mother?

Disturbing. They say it was based on a true story.

Like a lot of other things, it's probably the result of an overactive imagination.

Now BBB was a fantastic movie! Christ kid.. you're a weirdo.

Threads was the British equivalent of The Day After, both movies being about the aftermath of a nuclear war. The Day After was basically that.. the day after a nuclear conflict and it's effects on the residents of Lawrence, Kansas. Threads was almost in documentary style and followed the life of a young woman who became pregnant before the bombs fell and moved a few years ahead to when her daughter had her own baby, it was a very disturbing film..

And no I didn't make it up. http://us.imdb.com/Title?0090163

Yes, and the one and only time it appeared on Australian TV was when it was presented on a Wednesday night at 8:30, introduced by Mike Willesee and shown COMMERCIAL FREE, which was a first for a movie on Aussie TV at the time.

Yes, I do remember it, a creepy and frightening precautionary tale.

We were shown 'Threads' as part of our 'Environmental Studies' at Uni. A very disturbing film and opens the eyes of the ignorant to the horrors of nuclear weapons.

ps Appleyard, stop it you're killing me. Humour is not dead.
