Atkinson what a game. You have put it beyond doubt that you will not be delisted at the end of the year. :thumbsu: Love this bloke. New favourite player! How quick is he!
EDIT: Would also like to fit in Hurley and NLM somehow, but just cant.

Would somebody who watched the match mind (and can be bothered) giving a rough individual player evaluation? I could only hear it on the radio.
- Curious as to how Dyson went. Sounded like he was doing well in the first half?
- Bellchambers: Did he give adequate service?
- Neagle, McVeigh, Quinn, Davey, Quinn.........
Thanks

Dyson played really well, Montagna had absolutely no influence on the game for 3 quarters got away a little in the last, but with no interchange its not surprising.
Bellchambers best game in the red and black, was great in the ruck and kept providing a good option coming out of defense.

This is my view. If someone disagrees, do not rip into me and say i have no idea about footy or anything of the like.
Dyson
Fairly quiet, can't really comment as i didn't see him much. One kick in the last quarter to set up Monfries i think was special though.
Bellchambers
Played pretty well but tired at the end. Definitely played serviceably though.
Neagle
Great game, did barely anything wrong.
McVeigh
Started to get into the game more, still looks a bit rusty.
Quinn
He was lively, needs a bit more awareness though. Definitely has a good crack and intent is good.
Davey
Quiet, too quiet.
Quinn number 2

Good team effort.
I believe this sums it up really

1. Teamwork
Belly struggled, ryder was off in the last quater and we got smashed in the ruck.
Mcveigh and davey were serviceable. Quinn and Quinn :P we both ok, some good pressure, but the usual couple of mistakes.
Dyson was pretty good, one of his kicks was one of the best you will ever see hit monfries right on the chest about 45 metres away when dyson was under pressure.
Neagle took some strong grabs and kicked 2 goals, next year watch out :)

Everyone of our players played their best game for the year today.. Watson and Monfries were the clear standouts, but plenty of credit goes out to the rest of the team.. I can't stress enough how good we played today.

It was bloody awesome.

1. P Ryder
The above 3 players were absolutely awesome for us today for all 4 qtrs. Monfries was instrumental with 4 goals in the second term to help set up a strong lead going into main break. Jarrod Atkinson was enormous for us coming off the back flank with Dempsey. Pears was great on Riewoldt for the whole game. Its hard to give only 3 votes in a game like this cause I think the whole team contributed to the win. Hopefully Atkinson has proved he's done enough to hold his spot in the side. I like Hocking as well, but probably will be better as a come off the bench type of player.
Just for something different:
3) Watson - Take away the turnover that gave them a goal, his game was near-perfect.
2) Monfries - Continues to be our CHF. Another great game from Hollywood.
1) Hurley - How great was that contest with Riewoldt?! Gee he's a strong boy for his size and age.

Special mention to the running half backs of NLM, Atko & Dempsey
Pears & Hurley were damn good as was Prizza.
Prizza & Dyson were also good
Atko gets another year for me at least....should be a regular IMHO
With exception to Hillie ( in for Bellie ) & Windas ( in for Quinn ) & perhaps Reimers ( ??? ) was close to our best side all year.
Love the tackling & Great to see Mcveigh actually being effective...

3. Watson - Amazing game all round, but how freakin good was his work in the middle during the second quarter! I don't think the stats do him justice because he extracted the ball out what seemed like 5 times in a row after goals.
2. Monfries - I feel like such a nob for ragging on him earlier in the year, but he was always Mr Inconsistancy. Stringing a lot of great games together and really building my faith in him again. He not only took grabs and kicked goals, but he fought damn hard for the ball and got those vital contested possies.
1. Hurley - Showed composure of a man with many more games under his belt. Stood his ground and used his body against the best contested mark in the league and beat him well. (Same could be said about Pears too really)
Unlucky: Paddy, Tatyers, Atko, Ricky, Stants, Prizza, etc...
Good to see Spike get a bit of form and grunt back too!

I think the coaching department needs a bit of credit for the way they went about it too.

Fair to say Stanton and McVeigh both put the critics to sleep last week.
Especially McVeigh who's had a bad run of games and really needed a morale boost. Stanton really knuckled down on his skill work and that complimented his hard running game.
