As a passionate Essendon supporter for over 35 years i would just like to officially thank the AFL for the crap coverage Essendon has had on free to air television. I wonder if we make the finals how they will cover up not showing those games.:thumbsd:

Only reason i got foxtel this year...
Oh, and we sure seem to be playing alot of Sunday twilight games (or games in the west that end up being twilight games here in Melb)

when we start performing better we'll get better coverage, its the nature of the competition.

Yep.

Naturally we'll attract big crowds to the games, which increases the likelihood of playing Fri/Sat Night games.

Also, given the attacking mentality of our gameplan, it makes us good viewing. A fair few supporters from the other clubs have stated they like watching us because we take the game on.

The coverage is sooo much better on Foxtel. Not just our games, but every game shown on there is live - not on an hour delay like most free to air networks.

I would honestly prefer it if all 22 games of ours were on Foxtel - much better coverage when we're interstate and for games that we can't physically get to ourselves in Melbourne. No commercials during the quarters either so we get to see full replays.

If you own foxtel, then yes... otherwise no

We haven't deserved good coverage the last few years.

We got punished by the AFL this year, with a stack of Sunday matches, a few of those twilight.

Next season, given our exciting brand of football, expect 4-5 Friday night games and probably 5-6 Saturday night games.

We copped 9 sunday matches this year, but I'd expect no more than 7 next year.

Play better footy, get better coverage!

I saw that at the start of the year and was quite disapointed but you can't expect much more for a bottom four side (last year)

I hope no Melbourne fans see this thread, our fixture would be heaven to them.

The best thing about this dilemma is that the outcome is directly in our hands.

Not as much as St Kilda.

St Kilda have 7 this year. We only have 4. That's 7 games on Foxtel for the best team in the comp. Not including Saturday afternoon and Saturday night games.

We also hardly have any saturday arvo matches, which sucks.
