It is an English band, and my memory tells me it was late 70s maybe early 80s.

In the chorus it had:

Something I know, Something I know
Please dont tell me something I know
(cant remember)
You come for a day and you stay for a week.

And at the end of the verse they sing something like
"Much too long to wait for the perfect day"

I heard it for about 10 seconds last night and it is driving me batty!

Fischer Z "Perfect Day". Came out in 87 or 88. Great tune. Their only other hit in OZ was "So long" which came out in 1980.

1988 wasn't a bad year for commercial music.

'88 was a great yoear for music. Also a great year to lie in the Italian sun for 2 months with nothing but baby oil. Great tan. Lifted the last skin C last year.

Somebody else did a remake of that song recently. Sounded good.

I was watching RetroMax on Foxtel's Ch 16 this arvo & I'm pretty sure 88 was featured. I watched a bit of it & thought, hmm bad year this.

To each their own i spose. I've never really got into that sort of music i guess.
