If the Poms give this little yarpie a knighthood, I say we go to Republic status immediately.
I heard it somewhere on the news tonight, and even if they get MBE's I reckon that'll do it for me.

It was a shit proposal in 1999 referendum if you recall. We wouldn't have been able to select our own head of state (the politicians were to). So there was a coalition with majority between monarchists and people who thought the proposal was shit. And so we stayed with the union.

The MBE's are just another way of pointing and laughing at Australia. Convicts and can't beat us as cricket...yup we're the losers :D
