was just reading on the lions site about the possibility of each month releasing the days(or nights) for matches take place, as opposed to having this information before the season begins. i don't like this idea at all, it does not benefit the supporters one bit, imo it is yet another selfish profit-motive move from the networks. let's hope they don't introduce it.

Without knowing all the details, I reckon the clubs would be able to stop something like this from taking place. Even just on the basis of the possible affect on membership sales.

totally doesn't benefit the supporters, I mean most people plan their year around the fixture (I do, I make sure I don't plan anything for those weekends we get a game in Melbourne, heaven knows we get so few anyway, wouldn't wanna miss one!!!!!!!) and plan trips to see games and stuff, I'd say it won't go ahead, too many people would complain and the clubs would too.

Yeah, the AFL have already been bitten by Joe Public with regard to fixturing matches at times to suit the telly rather than the supporter. Surely they wont travel down that path again?
