Cheating pr ! ck. Trying to claim a catch that bounced straight off the thigh pad, then about 5 inches in front of him.

The captain as well - supposed to be setting an example.

An absolute disgrace to world cricket - let's see if the ICC has any testicular fortitude what so ever and gives him a ban.

For ****sake we just won the world cup. Who really cares?

I seem to recall Andy Bichel doing the same thing not to long ago...

I wonder what **** Pound has to say on the matter?

He likes to comment on other cricket issues that have nothing to do with him!

I think he'll get his just reward when he arrives back in India. :D The fans will probably string him up and burn him for losing the WC.

They've never suspended anyone for trying to claim a catch like Ganguly did, it's been more for bribery, throwing matches, ect, ect...

Gilchrist's comment on the matter was enough for me

" it is an easy game on the replay"

after seeing the "catch" bounce in front of Ganguly on the big screen

Just as well he's not Australian or he'd REALLY be in trouble.

Some people have short memories. I remember a particular Australian bowler try to claim a C&B during the summer that bounced about the same distance in front and nothing happened then.

We aren't victimised we just have a team which has some hot heads in it who hate losing at any cost. And McGill is coming in too.

Ganguly should be suspended for throwing the match. Fancy sending the Australians into bat!

Gillies comment was enough I thought. However, the ICC will not suspend anyone for that type of claimed catch. Try looking at the replay in normal speed. At that pace it is easy to claim a catch when you thought you MAY have caught it.

They have never come down hard on these issues Suzi and never have suspended any players for that type of conduct. The players will only be suspended for bribery, drugs or racism. Trying to claim a catch will not be a suspension.

You really sprout some garbage Suzi.

In his defence i dont think he had his eye on the ball when it went into his hands, so he may not have known it bounced.

Yes they have suspended someone for "cheating". Sehwag (I think) for constant appealing, this suspension led to the famous Indian boycott in South Africa last year

His eyes weren't on the ball when he caught it. It is hard to tell if you have actually caught them or not.........BUT....he should have at least asked for the replay......AND.....he must have known there was no bat in that one. A bit sneaky, but it isn't like he bowled underarm or anything.

You guys are pathetic sometimes ...

Andy Bichel did the same thing out here about 6 weeks ago ... and Ponting was standing at short leg and saw the entire thing front on ... AND APPEALED TOO !! And he's supposedly our next captain.

Open both your eyes ...

If you watch the Cheating Bastards hands closely, his fingers are pointed straight down and touching the surface, absolutely no possible way that a ball could cradle into them, he knew damn well that ball bounced!!!!!

And what a joke, Ever heard of the adage

"We've got them, Theyve got to get them" Obviously Saurav hasnt!! Why, why would you send the opposition into bat when your batting is your strength!!!!!

I posted this on the official match thread when it happened:

"Typical slimy Ganguly.

Gilly's comment was classic. Heard in loud and clear and had me laughing out loud."

Bloody hell, we are not victimised at all.. Australia has a massive history of been the hardest sledgers, win at all costs attitude, and yet our supporters claim we are hard done by. If it were an Indian, or a Sri Lankan, or anyone from another country who took money from a bookmaker, or took a drug-masking agent, I am sure us Aussies would be up in arms about how they should be ban for life etc..

If you take a look at it from a neutral perspective, I reckon the Aussies get an 'invincible' attitude and then cannot handle it when they get caught.

On your point, I'd say if he WERE an Australian, he wouldn't be in as much trouble as he may currently be in.

Well said.

Would 'we' be calling for a suspension if it was Michael Vaughn and not Ganguly?
