It was all predictable stuff (way too many "what do you think of the young guys" type stuff...i mean he is hardly going to say young player x is really crap), but he answered my question about his white boots, so it was worth the visit.
FYI, they are looking to make it a regular thing so check out the site for details.
Other info: Bandy will play this week. He missed the Brisbane praccy match with a calf.
Croft will probably play this week for the bees, so be looking to break in for seniors after that.
Oh, and importantly Grant had fun at gian's 21st.

BTW, a transcript of it will probably become available on the site soon (i know the AFL ones from last season used to post the transcript).
It isn't possible to copy what is said in that chat room (i tried so i could pass things on to people), so just have to wait for an official transcript on the site.

It appears that whilst they have the link to a transcript set up, they have neglected to actually put the transcript on yet. Hopefully they rectify it soon.
There was maybe 10 to 15 people in there mel.

The Grant chat transcript:
Sigscotty: Have noticed you have started wearing white boots, is that a sign of a more flamboyant style of play from you?
Chris Grant: a few players have picked up on that...no, the boots i'm wearing are a more comfortable style from adidas - i do grapple with the white ones though...
Jaywhitey: chris, you’re a great captain, sensational player, but honestly, do you fear for the future of the football club?
Chris Grant: i've been playing now for 14 years and over the years we've battled financially. when i first arrived we were in the Fightback period - what we need to move forward is making sure our members renew from 2002 and find new members - if we can do that, we'll have no problems
Everyone: how do u think the dogs will go this week?
Chris Grant: i think we'll go well, we've been preparing for 5 weeks for this game and there's no reason we can't have a win
chardy24: so chris how does it feel to have no problem this season leading into the season?
Chris Grant: it feels great, it's been great to be able to play all the pre season games, and i'm fit and raring to go, unlike last season
Rabid dog: is there much difference between rhode’s coaching methodolgy and that of Wallace?
Chris Grant: probably the difference is terry was a very attacking coach and peter rohde starts from a defensive mode and wants us to attack once we get hold of the ball
Marky 13: are you going to be there at the woofer camp?
Chris Grant: you've put me on the spot here...not sure at this stage, i'm not sure if i've been designated or not
PC28: how has the rohde/wallace transition been on the players? easy transition in styles?
Chris Grant: in some ways, it's been easy because peter was an assistant for three years, but we had to learn a new game plan and what he expects on the field, but we're ready now
Liam: Liam is 7, his question to Chris is 'What is your favourite position? mine is forward pocket (question from liam’s dad)
Chris Grant: always been centre half forward, it's a chance to play your style of game and kick a few goals, but i'm looking forward to settling down at centre half back this year and a new challenge
Guidos Gal: Hey Chris. Did u go to Guidos 21st the other day?? If Yes, Was it fun?
Chris Grant: yes, i did, it was a great night, all the players were there and it was a good way to catch up before the first game
Rabid dog: do you think we have much chance of retaining nathan brown after this season?
Chris Grant: nathan is a fantastic player and one we're attempting to build our side around, i'm sure the club is already talking to him about it. we all hope he stays of course, but we're focused on the games now
Jaywhitey: how has the addition of bassett benefited the backline structure?
Chris Grant: scott has fitted in really well, he is the type of player we've been trying to get for a few years, he will line up at full back this week
rob78: i am a big bulldog fan and a big chris grant fan - so good luck this season
Chris Grant: beauty, thanks
PC28: How does the prospect of commanding the backline grab you?
Chris Grant: i'm really looking forward to that challenge, peter has said he wanted to play me there from day one and i've been working hard on it
Sigscotty: Who is your likely opponent this week? Cameron Mooney?
Chris Grant: yes, someone like that who has played centre half forward for them all pre season, or kingsley or mccarthy
Granty: chris, will you at some stage this season go into the forward line?
Chris Grant: peter hasn't ruled out playing there at some stage throughout the year, maybe a quarter here or there to try and kick some goals
Sigscotty: how far off is Matty Croft?
Chris Grant: he'll most likely play for werribee next week so the next round or two after that
Guidos Gal: Chris have the younger players such as shane birss, guido and lindsay gilbee all beefed up a bit this year?
Chris Grant: they have all been working hard over the summer in the gym, they have all put on some weight, but to get to their ultimate playing weight probably takes 3-4 years
Everyone: what do you think of our younger brigade of players coming through?
Chris Grant: that's probably what gives me the most excitement about where the club is heading, we've got an exciting core with west and brown and a lot of players who have played 20-30 games who have a lot of improvement to come
chardy24: hey granty, is rhode a good coach? cos he was an alright school teacher - found him to be very quiet though as a teacher
Chris Grant: roda does come from a teaching background, but the best thing about him is he's extremely honest, he always tells you exactly what he thinks
Jaywhitey: Granty, no offence to the rest of the guys, but nathan brown is simply brilliant. do you expect him to have a brownlow winning season this year?
Chris Grant: definitely, he's my pick for the 2003 medal, he polled about 14 votes last year and there's no reason he can't take another step or two
Dw: how do u think P Wiggins will go this year? I think he looks due!
Chris Grant: i think even he would know this is a pretty important year for him. he's played full forward during the pre season and he's important for us going forward, if he can kick 30-40 goals for us this year
Marky 13: how are this year’s draft picks going ?
Chris Grant: all going well, there won't be any of them ready to play in the first round, but they all look very talented, it will just take them a bit longer to adjust but we'll see some of them this season
Sigscotty: Bandy missed the Brisbane practice match, what was the problem there, and will he play this week? and is Skipper likely to get a game either way?
Chris Grant: bandy will definitely play, he just had a tight calf and wade skipper is certainly vying for a position - he's really improved over the summer
Jaywhitey: you must be proud to be the captain of such a unified team...if only we could have some off field success
Chris Grant: yes, it's a massive honor to captain the side because of the quality people here, and it would be fantastic if we got 25,000 members, that would ensure our success for a few years
Everyone: Hey Chris. do you think the doggies have a realistic chance to win a premiership in the very near future?
Chris Grant: the most exciting thing is the group of players coming through - murphy, giansiracusa, hargrave etc, i really believe in my time of playing, we can win a premiership
Chris Grant: thanks everybody for logging on to the bulldogs website, we're all very excited about round one, we hope as many members as possible come to see us, and let's strive for 25,000 members and a successful year!

Sporty, how could you say that ALL the important people were there when the 3 Stooges weren't? I'm shattered. BTW in case you're interested the reason I wasn't there was because I got a brand spanking new computer yesterday and no2 son was busy installing all the stuff on it. HOWZAT!!!!
