Angel, I'm sorry but it would be a bit more believable if you said what stadiums you visited adn the teams you saw. I'm surprised you don't know what team your uncle or someone played for in the old First Division.

The average Aussie Yobbo would call soccer "Wogball" which I think is a disgusting statement. I think people are scared because soccer is the most popular game among our youngsters now. THAT IS A FACT.

My uncle played for Wolverhampton Wanderers in the 1950's

The early 50's I think, just before they got good and were a 'power club' because as far as I know my uncle never got any medals or won any titles. But Wolves were a big, powerful 1st div club in those days.

For myself, I've seen top flight English soccer at Selhurst Park in South London (Crystal Palace v Liverpool) and Villa Park in Birmingham (Aston Villa v Everton), and also top flight Euro soccer at San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy (AC Milan v Atalanta).

Soccer has enjoyed this position for many years now - what has happened to all those 100's of thousands of kiddies that played it ?

Nothing - they have all moved onto to better things. Soccer people bleat out this same inane rubbish about it being popular with kids, if its such a great game how come the OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of those kids don't go on with it ?

Because most kids in this part of the world recognise soccer as a boredom-fest for pansies and they move onto the infinitely more interesting and exciting oval-ball codes

Well it sounds as though you've seen some good stuff, but "Euro" soccer isn't AC Milan V Atalanta, they both are Italian teams so I don't know what you're talking about.

But, remember, when Jeff Kennet gets control of Soccer Australia (we hope) we'll see some reall good sh!t come out of Aussie soccer.
