Assuming GC could have any previous year drafts at 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15 in round one.
Would you go back as far as 2001 Draft, and take Luke Ball and Chris Judd at 2,3.
Or would you go to a draft full of quality KPF?

I dont know for arguments sake could have taken these players with those picks
Luke Hodge, Luke Ball, Chris Judd, Xavier Clake, David Hale, Jimmy Bartel, Brent Reilly and Nick Dal Santo.
Could of easily been the nucleus of a premiership team by now 2 times over.
Anyone want to do the 2004 draft?

How about the 2005 AFL draft:
1. Marc Murphy
2. Dale Thomas
3. Xavier Ellis
5. Scott Pendlebury
7. Patrick Ryder
9. Mitchell Clark
11. Shaun Higgins
13. Shannon Hurn
15. Travis Varcoe
Fairly good hey, all look to be at least very good players, plus a couple of potential superstars.

I don't think you could look past 2004. Forward line is set (Buddy, Roughy, Bate), Midfield is set (Deledio, Griffen, Lewis) and Russell, Dunn and Thomson for depth players. Just need a backline!
1. Brett Deledio
2. Jarryd Roughead
3. Ryan Griffen
5. Lance Franklin
7. Jordan Lewis
9. Jordan Russell
11. Adam Thomson
13. Matthew Bate
15. Lynden Dunn

For the 2008 National draft it is interesting to see the effect that the no bottom agers rule would have if GC got their draft concessions. They could potentially have got these players:
1. Nicholas Naitanui
2. Daniel Rich
3. Michael Hurley
5. Stephen Hill/Hartnett
7. Steele Sidebottom
9. Phil Davis
11. Tom Swift
13. Tom Lynch
15. Mitchell Brown
Also Potential bottom agers from 2007:
1. Trent Cotchin
2. Cale Morton
3. Patrick Dangerfield
4. Brad Ebert
5. Callan Ward
6. Tony Notte
7. Scott Selwood
8. Addam Maric
9. Tayte Pears
10. Brendan Whitecross
11. Marlon Mortlop
12. Jack Steven
Just from looking at this it is clear that the Gold Coast will get some very good players, and should have a good team, although after their top end talent, their depth will possibly be very average at best.
