The swans are on their way to a very good win against Carlton.
Congrats to Paul Roos on his first official win as the Swans Coach.

Good job to keep the momentum going. The next few rounds will really set the scene for the season. Good luck in the west next week.

A good win but you cant get excited over a win over a slow side like Carlton. After the first quarter the wheels fell off and they were there to make up the numbers.
Pleasing to note that Nicks played intelligently and Williams was a standout - This guy desereves to be a vice captain.
Others to impress were Bolton (did I say that) and Goodes was inspiring.
At the other end of the equation a couple were out of form and it is not good to note that this is the second match in a row that both players have mucked up against better sides they will need to get their minds on the job.
Saddington needs to beef up and Warfe looks overrated, Cresswell may be feeling the effects of his announcement but I think he will be back better than ever aginst Freo next week.
A good effort Roos.
Up the Swans

Bolton surprised me too - I thought he definitely looked more focused. Still a bit dodgy with disposals, but his in 'n' under work was first class.
Special note for Tadhg Kennelly too - this guy is now looking like a regular in the side - amazing that he'd never touched an oval ball 4 or so years ago. His goal was magnificent, great body-work.

Bolton was an interesting surprise bearing in mind the ongoing debate about his ability.
It will be interesting to see how he goes against Fremantle who will improve art home over this weeks poor effort. But Brisbane aside I think Adelaide will be the Benchmark this year.
Port were disasterous but the Perth trip has found out sides like the Lions as well.
Truthfully I was unaware of Tadagh's stats. But I was rapt in Matty Nicks display. It bodes well for the season if Goodes Nicks and Co can come up each week
BTW anyone know what is the consensus on the injuries?

BTW anyone know what is the consensus on the injuries?
Stephen Doyle- fractured kneecap- 10-12 weeks
Daryn Cresswell- calf strain- 4 weeks
O'Loughlin- knee- 1-2 weeks
Schauble- Available
Fixter- foot- 1 week
Its now worrying that Doyle is out and that leaves Ball and Goodes. Ball is a week to week proposition and cant be relied on to take the full brunt of it. That means Goodes will have to be swung into the role of Ruck.
Mott may not have been the answer but he was at least available and stayed sound. I hope Ball can remain fit.

I agree Tredrea it is a worry.
Doyle has all the talent, but just keeps getting injured- although Burgoyne's "cowardly act" last year hasn't helped his dodgy knee.
Ball starred for us in 2001- let's hope he can get back to his best or even stay on the park would be enough for me.
Goodes will go well against the Darcy/ Jeff White types that are mobile- but I worry against the Primus/ King types- too big and strong.
I was disappointed that they got rid of Mott, but time to move on- word is that Mieklejohn may come off the rookie list for Doyle. Mieklejohn is young and raw, but played well in the 2002 U/18 championship for NSW/ ACT.

You nailed it but Meiklejohn is an unknown quantity- I hope he can make the transition. Paul Roos and his selection committee will need go after tall timbers next year.. The comment about Mott was not meant to stir and I hope he does okay with Fremantle.
Its tough for me as I like both sides although my first allegiance is to Freo being a West Aussie , I have a great regard for Sydney as they are holding the fort againt the Rugby barbarians in NSW.
I'm trying to get there but it may be difficult. I and a few others will be at the MCG in a couple of weeks. Looking forward to that match - Thanks to Virginblue and there great fares..
Go the Swans.
