View Full Version : 4th ODI England v Australia @ Lords Saturday 7.15pm start

Yeah so I forgot this was on. But its Saturday night, we lead 3-0 in a 7 game series and how many of you really care?
Ponting is back for Hopes most likely and Australia's new "best batsmen" is going to slide down to slogger territory.
Broad comes in for Anderson.
Enjoy

Ricky Ponting in for James Hopes
Joe Denly in for Paul Collingwood
Adil Rashid in for Graeme Swann
Stuart Broad in for Jimmy Anderson.

Shame to see Hopes left out. I thought Bracken might have been the guy to miss out.

Blistering start to this match. 0-6 off 1.4
Not much carry through to Paine.

I don't see why Ponting needed to come back in.
But the selectors had to bring their captain back in.
Why not drop a batsman for a batsman?...
Watto
Paine
Ponting
Clarke
White
Ferguson
Hopes
Johnson
Lee
Hauritz
Bracken
That would not have worked?...
Ferguson batting at 7 (like he has been named in this match) is absolutely ridiculous in my opinion

Brett Lee oversteps and then proceeds to bowl a wide on the free hit, which remains a free hit.
Edge over slips for 4.
Joe Denly has helped the English so far, played a few good shots and looks to be keen on quick singles and wants to tick over the run rate.

Now Bracken is bowling some poo poo, Strauss is taking him to the cleaners.
I'll be here till 8pm, then I'll be off to watch Kurt Tippett.

Time to bring on Hop... oh wait :o

Ridiculous to drop Hopes, they should have taken the opportunity to rest Clarke.
Punter must be looking for an excuse to drop White... expect him to bowl 10 overs of poo and get boned.

Captains who take the powerplay after 10 overs when the run rate is over 6 should be fined.
You don't have to take it then you know!!
tonight just has a sh*t vibe - all the teams I want to win are losing so in that case....
GO ENGLAND!!!!

Horro gets Strauss.
Out in the 60's again for Strauss.
Expect a collapse from England here and they'll be all out for just over 200.

Geez Strauss is crap against Hauritz lately. Really didn't need to go for a big shot like that.
are we missing Hopes' tight bowling?

Nice ball Brett.
Not convinced Prior up the order is a goer but I guess England are a little light on options.

Lee having one of his on days it seems. And yea we probably are missing Hopes bowling this looks like a pitch made for him.
Fair nut from Lee to get Prior!
Hauritz the real hero here, has been a class above every other bowler.

Horro has been fantastic. (from the very little I've seen since the footy started).

What the hell happened to the poms. They were cruising. Turned it over at 3/4 time on the footy and they've not only lost wickets, but pulled on the handbrake too

Well bowled Bing.
Needed that wicket. Which brings Samantha to the crease.
Come on Bing, straight through him.

Strange that Rashid has come in as a direct replacement for Swann.
Rashid is a batting all-rounder in country cricket, bats in the top 4 or 5 for his county.
Wasted batting at 9 because he can actually bat.

Nah, heel click ftw!
Cop it sweet Owais. You jerk. Get off the field knobend, you're out.
Looked out.

It has to be above waist height in a normal batting stance as it goes past you? Wasn't even close, even if he had his pants near the midpoint of his arse crack.

220 lol how does England keep blowing the starts they get.
I'm pretty critical of Australia's batting but **** me dead England are hopeless. Lack of talent, confidence, know-how all rolled into one of the poorest batting outfits you'll ever see.

Really can't stand Stuart Clark's voice.

It's not as if they batted brilliantly in the test series either.
They were pretty awful there too. Just we were worse (in our first innings').

Yeah, held together by Strauss and the lower order really. He's been doing a fine job here but really needs to get 100s to compensate for the middle order shittiness. The worst thing about some of these England batsmen is they don't just get out, they first waste as many balls as possible and then get out.
I won't cry about it, but we would have won Cardiff with Lee in there. Ok, different tail today, but just imagine those yorkers swinging in...

Would have played in front of Hilfenhaus probably, so dunno if he would have done a better job. Real pity he went down though, was in such fine form coming off the tour matches.

Fair point yeah. At this point though, there's no bowler I feel safer with than Lee. Just his presence is uplifting.

one day he will get his front foot out the way and hit the straight ball with his bat.
Anyone else predicting Michael Clark getting out stumped here? Leaves the crease so often.

Its about time we win the toss and bat first. Nice to see Ferguson getting a hit and a boost to his average, hes great to watch.
At least the next 3 matches will see Hilfy and Siddle. I particularly want to see why Siddle was straight picked into our CT squad with only 3 overs in ODI cricket under his belt.

Very convincing win. This odi series will be leaving a somewhat sour taste in the mouths of the English despite their ashes win. They are gonna have less than a week after the final odi game before the champions trophy begins. Not great form.

Does anyone seriously care about the CT in the first place?
Guess how Watson got out?
He should bat without pads on... maybe a fear of getting his legs broken will solve his major technical flaw.
