Well, there have to be some changes, apart from the obvious fact that some players simply didn't deliver there will be players coming back. This is only R1 so a wholesale pruning is not yet in order, and I don't know who may be available. But on notice certainly are :
S. Burgoyne - I can recall 3 top games last year, St Kilda, Bulldogs and West Coast. And he shows his incredible skills in every match. But he too often goes missing. He is starting to become a bit like ****atoo-Collins, he isn't getting dropped more on what he may do than what he does do. I'd like to see him sent to the SANFL like Dew was, to get a bit of hunger for the game.

Hardwick, Wakelin - could be injured

Cochrane - Didn't get enough of the ball and kicked it wildly when he did.

Salopek - Deserves another chance but could be unlucky if plenty of senior players are available

Guerra - Still only a bit player.

That's what I've got to say. Possibly there may only be one change depending on what happens and that should be Cochrane out. I think Thurstans did enough and the defence looks shaky anyway.
Any other opinions?

Junior is a worry in the fact that he does a lot of what i'd call soft things, tapping the ball on, not taking posession, basically trying to be flashy rather than doing the hard things. Missed a few tackles that should have been made, although he is normally a good tackler once he gets hold of someone. Might just need to spead a bit more time away from Peter.

The non-possession ball control game is a great game to be able to play at the start of the season when the umpires are paying all the technical frees for hanging on, being tackled without possession, deliberate out of bounds, holding the ball and so on. I'd recommend he loses it midseason though.

If our whole side knew how to play that style of game, we'd be a lot more competitive against the Brisbanes, West Coasts and Collingwoods of this world, as they all seem to enjoy using play-on football against us,.

Would just like to see Junior take possesion of the ball and then use his skills to get around opponents rather than trying to be fancy and try and knock the ball around them first.
