* 1st game at Footy Park - the Lions are used to winning there, but I cannot imagine a more challening way to start the season.

* 2nd game vs the Roos - a bitter game to be sure & I can't wait. Hope the Lions take it up physically & blow them away. It's about time we had a win againt them.

* the injury count at the completion of the RR in the Ansett cup.

* seeing if Des Headland can make it in AFL. Watch out if he does, as IMO he probably has more raw talent than any other young player in the League.

* Michael Voss going into a season without pre season injuries hampering his preparation. He was pretty awesome with a steel rod in his leg, without one he will be a brownlow favourite.

* Seeing who can hold down CHF. J. Brown did an admirable job last year.

* the return of Keating, now McDonald has emerged as a force. Probably have Keating floating around the forward line - may even play them on the paddock at the same time?

* seeing S. Lawrence in action against his old teammates - shirtfront anyone?

* Luke Power continuing to outperform all other small forwards, more possessions, goals & assists than anyone & still all the press goes to Farmer!

* Chris Johnson, flying the flag for the Roys. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isnt he the only one left?

He's the only one of the 'Fitzroy Eight" left. Of course, Lynchy and Pikey were Royboys as well.
