Does anyone know if there are any plans to make a new series ?
This is one of the funniest shows ever made !!!

Their is a major motion picture in the works, not sure on a new series though. Im a huge fan!

The film has been in the works for at least six years now!
Is there a place where we can actually verify that a movie is being made - it's starting to become an urban myth.

Yeah, the movie's been talked about for ages . . . let's hope both Grant and Naylor are involved as series 8 sucked. I hope Kochanski doesn't get a guernsey, she is extremely irritating.
The books (Infinity Welcomes Careful Drivers, Better Than Life and Backwards) are awesome. The Last Human sucks, much like series 8.
Robert Llewellyn went to America and made a few pilots for an American version but (thankfully) it was canned. What is it with Americans that they always try to pinch quality Brit sitcoms? Ab Fab, Men Behaving Badly . . . it would never work.

What??? OK so series 8 wasn't the show's peak, but it was a massive improvement on 6 and 7. And Chloë Annett is just so rrrrowwwwwwrrrrr
Kochanski was a far better character once they stopped trying to make her a replacement buddy for Lister.

I thought series 6 was one of the better ones, but I agree with everything else, especially your comment on Chloe. Very tasty.
Red Dwarf's best days are well behind it now. Great show back in the earlier series with the cardboard sets and cast of 4.
I'd fork out for the movie though.

I thought season 8 was pretty good actually!! It had more of a flow in the episodes - ie: there was more of a feel of an overall story arc that you didn't get with the earlier seasons (though my favourites are still seasons 4-6).
I didn't like Chloe Annett's portrayal of the Kochanski character at first.. but the more I thought about it the more it made sense. She's SUPPOSED to be a snobby, upper middle class type - If anything Claire Grogan played the character a little too "nice". IMHO the season 7/8 version is more appropriate.
and yes, rrrrooowwwwrrrrrr, indeed. :D

Red Dwarf improved again after Rimmer came back. Although not too many people like Rimmer, he's a great character, and the show isn't the same without him.

Yep - Chris Barrie is by far the best actor on the show. Has great range - and can actually imitate the others probably a bit better than THEY can do their own characters ;)

I got the Red Dwarf books on CD and Chris Barrie reads it. He does a great job of imitating the voices of the crew of red dwarf.

Red Dwarf was a programme that, until the last series (which was awful) I thoroughly enjoyed on firstshowing.
I saw some repeats a couple of years back and, quite honestly, found it unimpressive.
Some comedies are like a fine wine, this became vinegar.
Still, better than 'The Office' which started as vinegar and stayed there.

??? As in dont like Barrie or dont like the character of Rimmer.
Rimmer is by far the funniest and best character on Red Dwarf. Lister, Cat and Kryten are all great too but Barrie's Rimmer is easily the standout!! Not to mention his fantastic Ace Rimmer character :D
I dont think you will find a RD fan that doesnt agree?

Funny how people look differently at things. To me, RD is the same as the Simpsons...it just never gets old!

No when I ask most of my friends who like RD, their favourite character is Lister. No one ever likes Rimmer, who is a pretty unlikeable character, but I love him. He's the funniest.

I still find RD very funny. I got most of them on video.

Lister is funny and people do relate to him better becuase he is the cool, rebel sort of character. But Rimmer is IMO easily the funniest. I was really annoyed when the new series was only going to have Rimmer in it every second episode....dont know why that happened either? Im sure the creators of the show can see that Barrie/Rimmer is integral to the success of RD.
great series but can't say that their careers kicked on afterwards though.
Rimmer is hosting robot wars on ITV which is shocking.

Danny John Jules who plays Cat has been in a few things including a role in Blade 2 with Wesley Snipes.

I love the show but stopped watching it after a few episodes of the last series. How did it end up finishing/
I know their original ship was re-built along with the crew members by droids, but the first few episodes of the last series put me off watching the rest.
