Since that I mainly post here when i'm on Bigfooty, I thought that I would pass on this article that respected Age Journalist, Martin Flanagan did about me, although it only has a few mentions of football within it, I hope that you'll be able to understand me and my current situation a lot better when reading this article.

P.S
It's under the heading "Here, cows like old-time music."
Good article. I've been on a few farms recently and know how tough you guys are doing it.
Wayde, even if you get some substantial rain soon, how much longer would it take for things to turn around?
Good luck. I hope things do turn around for you. And everyone else on the land for that matter.

Fantastic article! If felt as though the whole environment you guys are currently putting up with was portrayed really accurately and candidly for me.
Wayde, do you nickname your mate Xhuma "Monty"? As in "The halls of Monty Xhuma"? :)
Additionally, now we almost know what you look like ... if I'm ever up that way, I'll keep an eye out for a bloke with a cow growing out of his chest!
... and WEARING A FITZROY JUMPER!!!!!

No, I just call him Xhuma, i'm not that lateral in my thinking:D .
About that photo, it's lucky that the photo they chose was the last one that they took, because the heifer I was carrying peed on the side on my leg, which was most embarrasing, but both farmhand and heifer are now good freinds.
But, if your ever up here during the football season, look at www.kdfl.com.au under fixtures to see who Murchison is playing and if you happen to see a big bloke in cricket pants, you'll know it's me.

Thanks for letting us know about your article Wayde.
Surely you can't be as great a bloke as the writer thought...you didn't tell him you contribute to Big Footy did you?
Seriously, I live in dryland farming area and know many people in your situation.
The courage which you all exhibit every day amazes me. I feel proud to know people this strong. Knowing your situation also makes me proud that the internet has allowed me to make the acquaintance, if only through words, of someone like yourself.
I wish you the best of luck and heavy skies within the next month so as you can get your crops on track.
Rob.

"....No, I didn't unfortunately, but I'm a bad liar, so if I was telling porkies to Martin Flanagan (who would know, he's spent two decades being a football reporter and a foreign correspondant), he would know about it right away".

"...I'm not really courageous, and sometimes I do feel like not getting out of bed, but luckily everyone around me's been tremendous, and since that we're all in the same boat, we all need to stick together, and that gives me the resolve to push on"

"...Thanks Dogwatcher, although crappy internet service and time constraints due to my job prohibit me from spending more time on the internet, i'm glad that I can use this service to read about the views of a wide variety of people I would otherwise have no contact with".

"...I hope so, and I pray that my cows are fat, milking well and they have plenty to eat sooner rather than later".
