I have just returned 90 minutes ago. Great trip apart from the result. A big thank you must go to port1978 and hubby for making our stay so hospitable.
A word of warning must go out to any port supporters who are thinking about going to subiaco to watch the boys play. West Coast Eagles supporters are yet to read the AFL rule book, well at least the majority of supporters that were sitting around us! To say that Port were awarded free kicks that were soft was beyond belief!

A bit of a generalization there - I was at the game and most of the crowd including myself could not believe the amount of frees wc got.

I would easily concede port were hard done by the umps as would most wc supporters.

Better luck next time

Glad u got back safely to Adelaide safely Gbear, & that you had a great time over here.......maybe we'll have another Port supporter eventually move across to Perth. ;) Certainly was a great weekend, apart from the actuall result of the game :( But I guess it didn't take us long to forget about that!! :D

If you read my post properly I said those supporters that were sitting around me. I am not a violent person, but I came oh so close to strangling this older woman, who had no idea what she was going on about.

Most West Coast supporters who posted on BigFooty felt Port got a raw deal and were embarrassed by the antics of one of their own who was making personal attacks on the whole state of SA.

Sitting with GBear at the game this old lady very much reminded me of the Crows supporters, the only thing she was short of was a knitting needle.

At one point the old lady was going to roll up her Glen Jackovich 250 game poster and bash me over the head with it. She thought we were very unsportsman like, whats wrong with clapping for the oppositions mistakes???

Might I add that the young West Coast girl I was sitting next to was very nice and hospitable.

At least some of the supporters took on the Harmony Day spirit!

What was with the unending booing of Byron Pickett? I noticed Gavin Wanganeen copped a bit too but you had trouble hearing the commentators on the telly when Byron went near the ball.

I thought I better send a few thankyou's.

Gbear, biggest thankyou's to you, hopefully my singing wasn't too bad. :D

Port78 and James, made a miserable football match into a great day. Hopefully we can return the favor for when you return later in the year but with a win of course.

Chis17, was good to catch up again, not sure what happened Monday night, the Crown tried to tell me you had checked out but they didn't sound too convincing.

Overall a fairly good trip!

Glad you had a great time....even though the match result was crap!

Yeah, I couldn't understand why they kept booing Pickett. One of the others I was sitting with asked one of the dopey WC supporter kids why & his reply was "because of what he did to the Dockers" Hmmmm, thought he was meant to be a WC supporter & should hate the Dockers.....

Well, just arrived home about 2 hours agao, and had a good trip, bar the result, and the ******** WC fans., who had a go at us about everything from the state of the SANFL to what we were wearing!
Stupid lemons:)

A big thank you also to Renee and James, for making us SA fans feel very welcome and at home.:)

Gillian thanks for livening up the trip, and for being so cool:)

Scott likewise. Nice to se you again too. Sorry about the mix up on Monday night. part of the free accomadation deal was one night at the Indian Ocean Hotel, so i had actually checked out of the Crowne.:) I tried calling at about 8pm but got message bank. Sorry for the mix up. did you eventually end up doing the "guy" thing that night?haha

in all a good trip. cant wait to go to brissy in July and compare the collective IQ's of the different fans, or lack there of.

I thought they must have confused Pickett with Peter Burgoyne. I really couldn't see what Pickett had done wrong.
