Hi Footy fans...
The SANFL season is back in full swing and already the reigning premier has stated its intentions for the back to back flags with a first round thrashing in the race for the 2003 premiership. But hot on their heels are the runner-up Bulldogs and the Redlegs.
So lets get into the details...
The 2003 season officially started on Friday night down at the Parade with the traditional Battle of the Heavyweights match between the Redlegs and the Magpies, the home side dragging their rivals through the dirt with an 11-goal win.
The following day down at Noarlunga Oval, it was a tight and high-scoring tussle between the Eagles and the Panthers. But it was the visitors who emerged with the premiership points, winning by 21 points.
In the ABC Match of the Day, if their were any doubts about Sturt's psychological condition on the field, they were quickly dismissed when they continued the Tiger's on-field woes with a 46 point win at Glenelg Oval.
Finally over at Prospect Oval, the Bulldogs completely destroyed the Roosters after turning a 24 point lead at three-quarter time into a 123 point win. 16 goals at 3-Qtr time, 32 goals at the end of the game.
