YES! Finally, it is on it's way and I for 1 am genuinelly chuffed.
The McManus brothers, Connor and Murphy are returning with their gang of misfits including their father Noah 'Il Duce' McManus (Billy Connolly) and Rocco.
I absolutely loved the first movie, and rate it amongst my faves.
Not sure of the Australia release date, but there are previes out there on the web.

SEN.FECKIN.SATIONAL. I loved that movie. Also one of my faves.
Just saw the trailer. It looks AWESOME
Yeah, looks to be a step in the right direction with the cast back and the writers. But could also be an epic fail.

You could be right, often happens when a bigger budget and expectations are thrown at the sequel. I hope you are wrong though, lol

Agree that it looks half decent. 1 thing I'm not liking is the replacement of Willem Dafoes character with that chick from Dexter, that shit don't fly with me.

Dafoe said no.
While the original has it's cult following many people considered it gratuitous and simple minded. I don't think Dafoe is all that proud of it, which is a shame because I think he made the movie. II might struggle on his loss.

Yeah, I know he left. It's just, like you, I think he was the other half of the movie and it won't reach the lofty standards of the first one simply because his character isn't in it.
Didn't Rocco die in the first one?

Yeah, he's coming back in 'dream sequences' or something to that effect.

judging by the trailer, they have some other sidekick taggin along. Will struggle to be as funny or as cool as Rocco though. Like Defoe, Rocco was an integral character to making the first movie so good.
You guys should watch a documentary called 'Overnight' about Troy Duffy making the first one.
It's bloody hilarious.

Mate, I love the first. But you have to realise how bad that movie was. There are so many holes in the plot it's laughable. The Brothers were cool and Connoly added some more but that was because his character was hard, any more than the 4 lines in the first and he would actually lose the depth he had. The rest was Dafoe. He wasn't the other half, his character was ALL that movie. Without him Duffy is going to be found out hard.
This will likely flop, big time.
The first one was a fun action movie that had a bit of charm + Defoe, but it is so overrated.

Not sure how it can be overrated, I am constantly surprised by how few people have ever heard of Boondock Saints. And it's not as though it is trying to be the modern day Godfather.
