View Full Version : Appeal?
Are we going to appeal the Burgoyne suspension?
If not, why are we the only club that never does? Is Cunningham too tight-fisted? ;)
Because for us its a waste of money.
if they appeal its a waste of our money... you know how many season tix money they would use? .........
anyways peter got done for a smiliar thing before and they appealed and didnt get off...
What's the reason the charge was made? Because an umpire read more into a video than it showed. What was the reason for the two game suspension? The AFL are trying to sanitise the game. This is not a case of appealling, it's a case of whether you want to bang your head against a brick wall or not.

For anyone its a waste of money.
The tribunal will not admit they were wrong in handing down a decision that is so cut and dried.

For anyone its a waste of money. Not if you're Carlton (although that may also be a thing of the past).

We must be on a similar wave length tonight, I just said nearly the same thing at my message board and around the same time too.

Finish your sentence after "wrong" and you've got the real answer to why an appeal won't work. As far as I can remember, only 2 appeals have succeeded, one where Jonathan Brown was originally given 3 matches for knocking Fabian Francis into la-la land and another Brisbane one that escapes me at the moment. I think it was Leppitsch and I can't comment on that one because I never saw it.
