Hi all,

For those Brisbane Lions (specifically Melbourne-based ex-Roy folk) people who are interested in what is happening to the Fitzroy Football Club, please allow me to briefly update. I had a discussion yesterday with Bill Atherton, secretary of the FFC, who informed that a mail out to all of last years Coburg Fitzroy members will be starting within the next two weeks. Membership of the Fitzroy Football Club will cost $20 dollars this year, in which you will get a FFC pin and a membership card. On the back of the card will be the 2001 Fitzroy Reds fixture.
Speaking of the Reds, the FFC will be the Reds major sponsor this year. I'm not certain of the exact funds, but it looks like we will be tipping around $4000 bucks in the Reds coffers.

In addition to the Fitzroy membership, if you are keen to support the Fitzroy Reds in a bigger way, their membership packages have been released.

Three types of membership are available for the Fitzroy Reds in season 2001

SUPPORTERS MEMBERSHIP ($20)
Entitlements
Regular mail-out of the Red Rag club newsletter
Notification of social events
Special luncheon during the season

SOCIAL CLUB MEMBERSHIP ($50)

Voting rights at the AGM
Discounted entry to social events

GOLD CLUB MEMBERSHIP ($100)

Mobbenf*hrer and myself are going gold class, for what it's worth.

Sorry if any one is offended by this news of the still surviving FFC, this kind of thing will be posted on the Fitzroy Board once Bluey has set it up.

Cheers,
FitzroyRamone

Fitzroy Ramone - as far as I am concerned that is an appropriate post to put on this board - no need to apologise. There are some non-Fitzroy people that are intersted you know.

I'm sending off payment for a gold membership next week. Will also probably wander over to the bowling club for the AGM in March.

gregtri - I am assuming (and correct me pls folks if I got this wrong) that the Fitzroy FC Inc AGM and the REDS AGM would be 2 seperate meetings?? As FFC only sponsor the Reds who are a separtate entity?

The FFC AGM would be a seperate one to that of the Redz. I don't even know if the Redz have and AGM (I assume they would though). Being a VAFA club with only one team, and no issues such as player payments to discuss, there is probably less scope for a full-on AGM for the Redz.

The Fitzroy one is in March, I've got the details at work, FletchRamone has it too, March 26 or 27 or something.

The Fitzroy Football Club AGM will be held at the Fitzroy Bowling Club on Monday March 26th, beginning at 7.30 I think. Ladies are requested to bring a plate. Nah just kidding, it will be a good chance to get our Fitzroy books signed by Dyson Whore-Lacey.

For those interested, I am currently developing a Fitzroy Reds 2001 supporters guide, which will be a basic guide on our opposition, away grounds and pre-match drinking venues. I should have it posted by the end of the week.

Cheers,
FitzroyRamone

Is Dyson Hore Lacy still the president of Fitzroy or has the structure changed.

Yup, Dyson is still El Presidente of the Fitzroy Football Club. I dont think the board has changed that much since 1996, with the other board members being, from memory, Elaine Findlay, Colin Hobbs, David McMahon (he still has the porn star moustache he had when he played for Fitzroy) and Bill Atherton.
