I don't know about you, but watching the medals being given out today, i am HANGING OUT for us to win another premiership! When my boys were little, they would practise getting their medals for Essendon. I can just imagine it happening -Number 1: Jay Neagle, Number 2............ CAN'T WAIT! Come on Bombers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Watching the boys going around the boundary to their fans - reminds me of Hirdy in 2000 - tears to my eyes - I want to be there again - come on Bombers! Stop the rubbish - you want to be there too!!!!!!! :thumbsu:

Ryder was there today :thumbsu:
I've been feeling that way all year, and last year, and the year before that...

One day soon boys. One day soon. :thumbsu:
Our patience will pay off. Do you think the supporters who witnessed '93 could foresee 2000?
I know I didn't.
Once it comes, it'll be even sweeter...
But I won't lie. When I was watching the Grand Final celebrations... I wanted the Bombers to be up there so bad. Although I'm sure 15 other clubs wanted to be there as well.
2012-2013 = 17 :thumbsu:

Yeah i have been feeling the same way... i was in year 8 in 2000 and wasnt into the footy the way i am now!!!! I want to experience the dramatic prelim final win... all the media coverage, the open training sessions, the grand final parade and the excitement of grand final day again!!!!
Most people on these boards expect us to challenge around 2012.
Make of this what you will:
The last time my birthday was on Grand Final day was in 2001; we may have lost, but we were in the GF nonetheless.
The next time my birthday will be on Grand Final day will be 2012. :thumbsu:

I was thinking the same thing. Unfortunately, i don't see us getting there with this current group of players. Maybe in 2 - 3 years we'll get high enough on the ladder to be a chance.
You have to remember that other teams improve as well.
At the moment there are just too many holes in our side. I'm hoping for us to make finals again next year and guessing we are still at least three-four seasons away from a flag.

I want our boys to be there just as much as the next person, I would pay whatever I had to to get to the game etc etc. Watching the game on Saturday for me highlighted just how far away we are from a flag, we are well below the standard of football those two sides produced throughout the season. I think we have several guys that need to really step up and a fair ways to go yet.
We need to lose Quinn and Slattery, if those guys are in the best 22 we are going nowhere!

The 1993 Grand Final was played on the 25th of September.
The 2010 Grand Final will be played on the 25th of September.
1992 saw the end of some of the club's most distinguished careers. So did 2009. Could we see a new era of the "Baby Bombers"? ;)
Of course, it's just a coincidence. :D
I hope so because I don't think the next one is until 2021!!!!!!!!!!
