What a joke that the match went ahead. The Doggies did the right thing in leaving out Chris Grant.
They adapted much better than we did. Why in dickens name did we still play down the sides.Kicking long would have been a much better option.
We were outcoached.
The players need to be at the Gabba this week, doing kicking practice. This cazillions of behinds each week is disgraceful.Happened last week, now this week.Better not happen in the real season.
What ever made then put in a tall forward line in the heavy rain. We needed small forwards, not tall timber.
Vossy played well as per usual. Hope he pulls up well and not injured.
Can't see us beating Carlton this week. We will have heavy legs.
it was good listening to the radio broadcast last night, very informative. Champs was funny.

Unfortunately acer, it seems that straight kicking has always, and at this point in time, will continue to be a problem for the Lions. It would be interesting to see how often we kicked more behinds then goals. It also would be interesting to see how often the lions had more scoring shots, but lost the game in the past few seasons.

And as for the Lions not playing up the centre of the ground, this also common. How often last season did we see the like of Lappin, Akermanis, Voss, and Chris Scott run along the boundary line at the the Gabba?

For some reason the Lions like to take the long way around, instead of straight up the guts.

Sad isn't it, bad kicking and we didn't even have Lynch in the team. I have to agree, the kicking was insipid and the direction to the goals was absolutly woeful.

Good to see Voss still going well tho - topped the stats with 24 disposals, closely followed by Black and Lappin on 23 and then Pike on 20.

Gawd....we really really really coulda used Hart last night I reckon!

hehehe I'm with you on that one....Lynch needs to move from the forward line. Not his possision, despite getting over 50 last year, I didn't think it was too impressing.

Not many positives from that match. Either the players or the coach didn't adapt to the conditions in the style of play that was used. The coach is blaiming the players.But...Wouldn't he have told them how to play, if they were doing it wrong, wouldn't they have been yelled at or benched.
The kickng points is something we have done for years.None of the coaching panel seem to be concerned. In the past they have said its never a problem.
Gotta tell you I think its a huge problem, in some tight matches a couple of those points converted to goals would get us over the line.
If kicking under pressure is the problem, fix it.Practice makes perfect, big time.
