Just wondering if anyone reckons Mooney will get cited for his tap to the jaw. Can't remember who he hit, but it was as good as Ryders love tap. I wonder if it will go un-noticed by our beloved MRP.

Ryder got two weeks, didn't he? the AFL edict about double points in grandfinals should mean Mooney gets 4. especially considering his record isn't going to be that flash.

If he gets 4 weeks, good on him, they won the final. he's such a dud on a good team though

yeah Mooney is a clown. In my opinion what he did was far worse than Ryder as he wasn't provoked, just decided to jab someone to the face. However i reckon the MRP will forget to look at incident coz it doesn't involve one of our blokes. I guess only time will confirm my suspicions.

You're getting me wrong dude. Mooney is a good player just does silly things. I was barracking for you guys the whole way and thought all in all the umpiring was garbage against the cats. I hope he doesn't get reported, i am just picking up on the indiscretions that Essendon seem to lose players for and other teams seem to have the MRP ignore. Geelong is my second fav team and i reckon the best team i have ever seen in my 38 yrs of supporting footy.

When i saw that 'tap' i immediately thought of Ryder's suspension.... Mooney should get at least 1 weeks for that.
Double points mean he should get two.

I agree. But Ryder went for something in the heat of the moment with Hodge which was super soft and stupid. Mooney was unprovoked and he has a bad record with the tribuneral - it was soft and stupid and he had no reason for it. IF it makes it to the tribuneral i have no doubts he will go, however i have my suspicions the MRP will not see this punch and it will get left alone. Like everyone just need consistency in what people are actually getting sent to the tribuneral for.

I agree with you Maximus, he didnt care if he got suspended, he just wanted to let them know that it is not going to be an easy game. I think that it was just a love tap really anyway hehehe. 4 weeks, but I am sure he will be happy to take them especially since they won.
He has done his job as part of the team to get them there and he did his job in the grand final. I do think that he has been one of the weaker links over the last 2 year but he has the silverware.

MRP = Joke
The MRP is a joke, but we already knew that before this decision. Ryder should never have been suspended for what he did, and Mooney should not have been suspended for what he did. Unfortunately, we were on the wrong end of the MRP decision.

The MRP needs to be investigated. This is blatent discrimination towards Essendon. We had 3 players scrubbed out in the last 2 weeks from bullshit reports that they laid. The public can see the inconsistencies yet they are a law onto themselves with no accountability.Pretty much the story of the whole AFL to me.
Watched the reply last night, Mooney's hit was a lot worst then Ryders. He should of got two weeks as well.

Mooneys was worse (unprovoked) and he has a bad track record. I think the reason Ryder went and Mooney didnt is because Mr Walls and co. with his hatred of Essendon continually crapped on for the whole game and after the game about what the essendon players had done. The were replay after replay of the Lloyd, Ryder and Lonergan incident. With Mooneys they took a look and went "oh that is not good" then never highlighted it again. Scrap the MRP or dont allow ex players on to it. I personally am at my wits ends with the stuff i see go unnoticed every week. The MRP is a joke and the AFL is a joke for supporting it.:thumbsd:
