My mother has more chance of winning the brownlow than him.
I wonder why the mods have left this on the AFL Board yet an identical Buckley thread gets moved...........

Tad harsh I think.
I do not believe that he will win a brownlow this year, but I certainly think he will be a contender in a couple of years.
He has only just turned 23

The best way to think of Goodes is to think who in your AFL team would you do a direct swap with Sydney for him? I am guessing there are at least 5 or 6 players who you wouldn't swap... maybe more.... Goodes is not that good if you pardon the pun.

This is rubbish
People want to debate such issues
Just because he's a Sydney player doesn't make it a sydney only issue.

No , although maybe he should regrow the ponytail if it is a goal for him.
WHy should these type threads be moved? Only Sydney fans have the right to debate a high profile player's preformance? Rubbish.
Oh the answer is no. But he's back to his magic start.

Perhaps not this year but he has the arrogance, ability and performance to poll well and who knows next year he may just get there.
He is certainly the type to attract plenty of attention and the arrogance is not a bad trait as it gains notice also.
Goodes is a natural athlete unlike others who need to spend hours in a weight room building up.
Its also about time Sydney recognised him for the player he is and Roos got off his butt and named him and Nicks as Vice Captains.

a lot of people say Goodes will win the brownlow, if not this year, within 3 years.

I don't think Goodes is a realistic chance of winning the Brownlow at the moment, because he doesn't seem very consistent. He might have one good game then the next will be ordinary. Miss a few goals in front of the post.....:( Also, Goodes' work rate around the ground doesn't seem very high, and if he's our best chance of winning the Brownlow this season I think I'm in for a season of pain & misery. :(

you serious??
Cousins
Kerr
Judd
Wirrpunda
Gardiner
Fletcher
Sampi
If it were a direct swap I wouldn't be happy with Goodes for any one of those.
On his day he is capable of playing better than all of those except Judd, but he doesn't have enough of them.

Adam has been playing so well over the last 2-3 matches, the commentators are dropping brownlow hints about him, but if he doesn't win the brownlow this year, then in the next 2-3 years.
I'd say he has a great chance of getting this years swans b&f award!!!!!
Go Adam, keep it up!!!!

Like most players in this game, he looks brilliant if allowed to roam around the oval unchecked doing what he wants ...
I guess its a tribute to his superb atheleticism that he seems to able to run the legs off any direct opponent at any stage during the game.
On the Brownlow thingy, if he continues to to play this well, and if his opponents still can't pick him up for the rest of the season, Goodes is capable of anything - Brownlow, Norm Smith. Skilton, name the honour, and just atm Goodes is up for it, easily.
