Anyone see this show tonight? Ive said it before but for the uninformed its Seinfeld creator Larry David's new show... starring himself. It's just about his goings on and his character which nothing ever seems to go right for (kind of like Castanza but allot more).
for those who saw it did you see the very end of the show? classic:D
Have not thought too much of the show until last night, but that was a pretty funny episode.
You can really tell that he was the Seinfeld creator though, same sort of comedy, storylines etc, the characters are just much, much uglier.

Thanks.
BTW, I heard that the unexpected success of this show, put the reurn of Seinfeld on the back burner indefinitely.

Ah yes, I catch this whenever I remember that it's on. Wish nine would advertise it just a little bit.
I actually prefer this show to Seinfeld. Somehow it seems less wacky and zany yet retains the same kind of humour.
My favourite episode was the one where his wife thought he had a thing for arses, with the speed camera photo at the end.

That arses one was great, I really liked the ending to monday's though.
"Mommy mommy that bald man's in the girl's bathroom and there's something hard in his pants!":D Tough break there for poor old Larry, nothing ever goes right for him.

The main difference is that it doesn't have Seinfeld's 'studio laughter', and I think this makes the show a bit too stale. The comedy is good though.
You actually LIKE canned laughter?

Pretty sure most of Seinfeld's laughter was in front of real studio audiences, not canned laughter.
Actually, certain shows' humour was built around the insertion of canned laughter. I remember watching a 'Get Smart' episode once that had its usual canned laughter missing - actually hurt the enjoyment of watching the episode.

I saw that show. Wierd without the laughter.
Didn't Larry David model George on himself when creating Seinfeld?

Last night's episode. 'The fork' and 'the massage'
Absolutely hilarious stuff. Anyone who saw it will know what I mean. If I explain the massage it will have this thread or my post deleted.
Suffice to say, it involved a masseuse with long red hair, who was also a psychic who got Larry into trouble. :D

I loved the bit at the end when he was standing outside the restaurant with the sign over him and all the people from the past episodes were walking past... eg the parents from 'the doll' (It was a water bottle in my pants!), the execs from ABC etc.
Lasts weeks with the big fight between the christians and the jews was a classic too. Infact I cant remember a bad episode. Hopefully the show becomes as popular as it is in the USA (beat Friends, Malcolm, Simpsons to a Golden Globe). Everyone of my friends who i turned onto the show have absolutely loved it. Does anyone remember the show that used to be on before it, 'A Perfect World'. was a brittish comedy set in an office. pity that's not on anymore, it was allot better than 'Welcome to new york' which preceeds Curb these days.

Oh you are not wrong about 'Welcome to New York' . Just one of those filler shows.
I have to say it is becoming one of my favourite shows. I think it was the last in the series or something. I would almost say it is better than 'Seinfeld'. Or maybe I am just bored with the same old repeats.
The last bit with the sandwich boards, absolute laugh. People didn't know where to look. I am wondering if the people going inside actually knew him.

I've been watching 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' from the start and I reckon it's the funniest show on TV (only 'The Office' is up there with it), I just wish Nine wouldn't show it so late because I've missed a few of them from the time being changed and what not. It deserves a much better time slot (perhaps it's the swearing that keeps it on so late) Poor Larry, you have to feel sorry for him, except for that hillarious episode where he trips up Shaq nothing ever goes his way.

Yeah, they were all the people from the past episodes that he had unresolved issues with, the parents from 'the doll', the guy from ABC (the one he called 'the c word' over a game of cards), and a few others.
I actually think that show he's pitching with Elaine's character 'Are you evelent?' would actually be a good show. For the uninformed his idea was a show about an actor who played a character (who was supposed to be a bit of an idiot) on an incredibly successful sitcom (ie Elaine) and can't get work because she is stereotyped as that character all the time.

Yes.
Massive bump here!!! ( Couldn't find another thread on it! )
Anyone else still watching this?? ;)
Seriously one of the funniest shows ever and much better than Seinfeld IMO. Got every season on DVD recently at JB for only $30 each and there is hours of laughing to be had viewing this show! :D
A MUST see for anyone who may of missed it in its early days when it was on channel 9 here in Oz and the box sets are great to watch with one episode after another and no adds. :thumbsu:
I think there is a more recent Curb thread. I'm working my way through the all 7 seasons for the the third time. Looking forward to season 8 next year.

Season 7 was still very good I thought, although 6 was better.. The episode about Grote's disease was the best of the lot (Season 7). And it had Funkhauser's joke. :D

Doesn't answer your question - but it could be awhile. Season 6, which I was waiting to purchase, took quite a long tome to get released here.
