AUSTAR will not tell their customers about the MANY FAULTS that their MYSTAR has.

Quite often when you have recorded a program, you get the following happenings about your recorded.

1. FAILED!!!!! (It just didn't work - No explanation why)

2. Part Recorded!!!!! (No explanation why)

3. The program has started too early and MYSTAR did not pick it up, so YOU MISS THE BEGINNING of the program. Even if you add so many minutes before the program, you still miss out!
4. The program has started too late and MYSTAR did not pick it up, so YOU MISS THE END of the program. Even if you add so many minutes after the program, you still miss out!

5.Sometimes all I get is a BLACK SCREEN!!!! NO PICTURE, NO SOUND!!!! SO AGAIN YOU miss the entire program!!!!

AUSTAR's answer to this!!! " AUSTAR did perform rigorous testing prior to release but like all testing it was in a controlled environment. It is only when it is released and there are several hundred thousand people accessing it rather than the thousands that problems emerge"

Well AUSTAR didn't test enough!!!! Why should their customers be paying for faulty equipment?? Equipment that should NOT have been issued out until it was perfected!!!

MYSTAR!!! :thumbsd:

I wouldn't want to be dependant on a third party service provider just to record a television show. This is a Tivo kind of service is it?

Just get a HD recorder and do it yourself, same as since the video revolution in the 80s. These contracted services are all about locking the customer in, phone, internet, TV... I hate being locked into contracts, makes you their bitch.

It's almost criminal how bad Austar is in all areas, not just MyStar (which is widely known to be shitty).

For the past six months I've been unable to use their online service because they can't figure out how to allow me to log on to the web system. I've called and emailed them about it and they have no idea. They're useless.

1. FAILED!!!!! (It just didn't work - No explanation why) Happens on my IQ

2. Part Recorded!!!!! (No explanation why)

Happens on IQ

3. The program has started too early and MYSTAR did not pick it up, so YOU MISS THE BEGINNING of the program. Even if you add so many minutes before the program, you still miss out! Scheduling problem. Shows don't run on time and you are recording a specific block of time. Happens on IQ.

4. The program has started too late and MYSTAR did not pick it up, so YOU MISS THE END of the program. Even if you add so many minutes after the program, you still miss out! Refer IQ

5.Sometimes all I get is a BLACK SCREEN!!!! NO PICTURE, NO SOUND!!!! SO AGAIN YOU miss the entire program!!!! Even had this happen on IQ.

I just curse, shrug my shoulders and hope there is a replay.

I've used Mystar before and never had a problem with it.

The problem here seems to be putting trust in automatic recording. Some people are just dumbasses.

You can't record back to back programs on the same station, it just doesn't work. You have to do a manual record for it to work.

Also if you record something and you leave ther Austar on the same station chances are it will record the program before it as well.

Glad i'm moving from an Austar area to a Foxtel area soon.

AUSTAR practically IS Foxtel.

Ever wonder why Austar ads can sometimes be seen on Foxtel?

Remember G Code. i used to have a vcr that had G code and since all tv programs ran over time except the abc it was worthless to use G code. and so i went back and just used the normal way of recording. this sounds like a similar problem

Well it happened again during this week.
This pathetic MYSTAR stuffed it up again. I lost 3 and a half hours worth of programs because of the stupid BLACK SCREEN.

UP YOURS AUSTAR!!!!! :thumbsd: :thumbsd:
