With all the talk of Sachin and VVS's good record against Australia, anyone care to put forward an all time XI of those players who got the job done against Australia. And of course, weight should be given to those who performed against Austrlia when they were at their best.

Barry Richards averaged 72 against Australia.
Andrew Hilditch is a lock for the selectors position
Barry Richards averaged 72 against Australia.
In only one series though. So it's a bit hard to justify a place for him.

Not at all. He's still the best batsman I've ever seen, he's in my best ever team without question.

What's Ijaz Ahmed's average against Aus? Seemed to make a ton every time he walked out on the park against us...
edit...
Total
60 tests - 37.67 avg - 12 tons
v Aus
14 tests - 47.17 avg - 6 tons
Not as impressive as I originally thought, but still not bad...

Is there a spot for Jim Laker in the team? Yes. only one great series, but it was pretty good. Australia have always had a weakness against top-class off-spin.
Based on performances against Australia, you'd probably have Beefy in there as well.

Based on guys I reckon always have a crack against Australia, rather than stats.
Michael Vaughan
Virender Sehwag
Brian Lara
Sachin Tendulkar
VVS Laxman
Kumar Sangakarra
Andrew Flintoff
Daniel Vetorri
Richard Hadlee
Curtly Ambrose
Shane Bond
Imran has both Hadlee and Beefy covered as an all-rounder. Batting at over 35 and bowling at under 25. Of course, Hadlee also warrants selection as a bowler alone.
I'd be hesitant in leaving Harbajhan out of any side to player Australia. If I was selecting from players I'd seen, he'd probably be one spinner.
Keeper: Denis Lindsay from SA. 838 runs against us in 10 matches. 606 of them in the 66/67 series. I'm pretty confident that's the most runs by a keeper in a series ever.

Sure is. 66 runs higher than Andy Flower against India when he averaged 270 for the series

Hadlees 130 wickets at 20.56 would get him a spot a a bowler at least
