You're right. When your midfield includes the finesse of Furness, the Chicken & the Hawk, your forward line was always going to be presented with plenty of opportunities. Smallhorn may have even notched up a few more Brownlow votes.

I always thought Harding had a football brain. He usually seemed to choose the right option, when he played for Fitzroy. Unfortunately his ability to execute those options regularly let him down. You can't be good at everything, I suppose.

I reckon he'll combine pretty well with Jimmy Freake at Normanby. Freake should be good enough to convert some of the half cahnces Harding provides. :footy:

Nice little cameo by Holden there at the end of the third quarter. Two goals and an assist when my boys stormed back to the lead.

Elliot and Smallhorn must have played pretty loose on one another to get all those touches. Would have to be the two best players on the park.

Ruthven a disappointment. Might play him in the middle next time.
