Why is it that the Gabba scoreboard had the countdown clock on it? I thought that this was not allowed by the AFL?

With the shorts thing, I think if the colours don't really clash then home shorts can be worn by both teams.
Makes sense, really... Hawks & Sydney have been doing it for years.
We wore our home (maroon) shorts in the GF last year and rightly so.
Nothing wrong with Collingwood doing the same up here because there is clearly no clash of colour or design.

This is a completely different issue.
I don't mind the countdown clock on TV but I absolutely detest it at the venue. It's an atmosphere and suspense killer.
The Lions virtually ran dead for the last 5 minutes last night and you've got to wonder whether it had something to do with the time remaining being on display.
Get rid of the bloody thing.

Countdown clocks are the work of the devil. No one other than the timekeepers should be aware of the time remaining in a quarter.
