Heffernan was very, very impressive today. Every single one of his 21 possessions was a killer, he kicked a lovely goal, and was one of the few Demons who wanted to tackle, ending with 7 for the match. He will be a good pickup.

The problem with Heffernan is that he is very inconsistent. He will play a very good match here and there but other that he is average.

That was a nice goal. I thought we were in trouble when Heffernan kicked it, because it's the sort of thing that can lift a team. I'd say it was goal of the day.

Heff was great, the only highlight in a very depressing day.

Yes, I agree, but he still has to concentrate a bit harder on his game....and it will all click into place.

Since that Geelong match, Heff has been averaging 19 possessions a game. With Yze out of touch (despite getting a lot of the ball), TJ injured and Brucey injured, I now think Heff is our number 1 midfielder. I love watching him play in full flight.

He dodges too many contests. There were at least 3 one-on-ones he had a chance of winning but didnt because of side stepping to avoid contact. He never puts himself between the opposition and the ball.

He's only small but so is Daniel Ward and it doesnt stop him.
