Interesting role for The Great One, running here there and everywhere, broadening his football horizons.

I was at the game - I haven't seen the stats, but I reckon Bannister's would have to be fairly impressive. Either that or all his touches of the ball were directly in front of Aisle 34.

Huge apologies to Harvey who i thought changed the game for us.

I want to be biased and give three to Lloyd, but that's not fair to the others, so...

3. J. Johnson

Wish I could have been there. Went last week, **** game. Might be going to Anzac Day, probably get flogged. But the week I don't go and dammit we get a win! :D

3. JJ - welcome back!
2. Hille - still say he'll be a better CHF/Forward Flanker than ruckman, but a supreme effort. Well done young fella.
1. The 'Great One' - worked hard all night, and was molested consistently by Croft (but I guess the umpires only ever saw it once...)

Having said all that, the best thing about the match was THE KIDS!!!!

Teddy-Boy, Bluey Harvey, Royal Joel, Jordy and Walsh.
Even Welsh is getting back in form.
Good to see their second efforts too.

Mercs and Sess playing well too.

Strugglers include McVeigh & Scotty - what's going on there?

Special mentions: Hird, another lazy 27 odd touches which seemed to go unnoticed by many, and Harvey who showed a bit.

Good win without Wellman and Fletch; it was pretty obvious that our defence was undermanned. Just glad we kicked enough goals to win.

3. J. Johnson - you knew he wouldn't stay quiet for long
2. Hille - His best game by far
1. Lloyd - I think the half-forward role really suited him; maybe we ought to try this more often.

Honourable mentions:

Harvey - he's a gun. Keep him in the side next week Sheeds
Bannister - proved that dropping him was a mistake
Mercuri - playing much better, just needs more time
Hird - did enough to get noticed
Alessio - has definitely lifted his game

with apologies to Matty. Congrats to Mercs on seeing those silky skills emerge again, also to Solly and Pev on their ever present toughness, and well done to all the youngsters!

Think Hille would be better suited to a half forward role, but his ruck work is improving immensely.
Mercuri's slowly starting to get some of the ball, hopefully continues to get a bit more of it next week.

BTW, Berbakov's up in Sydney now - he's working with the NSWAFL Commission getting their website up and running (about time someone did), and also playing with Pennant Hills.

3 - J.Johnson - un-tagged he's one of the best midfielders in the comp
2 - Lloyd - Point to Sheeds - Leave him at CHF!! Brilliant performance
1 - Hille - maybe a Full Forward spot could be his if Lloyd plays at CHF.

Great games by Harves & Mercs, and although Hirdy had 27 touches, he looked slow and un-fit - he can't be 100% can he?

it's funny how an unfit hird still plays such an important role in the team... send the guy to bendigo for a week to find some form :D

2-M.Lloyd (almost there, hasn't had that vice like grip working yet hopefully against the magpies)
1-D.Hille ( great work around the ground and is improving in the ruck.)

The whole team played great,
Bannister was a little troubled at first, missed the ball a few times and then started to fight,

Was a little worrying at first,
thought "oh no,here we go again, another suspension for Essendon" did any1 see in the paper the pic of Alessio with his arm around Darcy's neck? Thought that was a close one!

But seems to all be ok! :)
